Estée Lauder Advanced Time Zone Age Reversing Line/Wrinkle Crème Broad Spectrum SPF15 - review

I recently reviewed Estée Lauder's Time Zone eye cream (see here), and I've been using this matching face cream at the same time.

Of the two, I think this is the better product - and while I don't like the eye cream, I don't mind this one.

It's not something I would buy (I received it as part of a GWP), but I'm happy enough to use it and don't feel the need to rush through it as I do with the eye cream, which doesn't agree with my skin.

Verdict

Estée Lauder's skincare products can be a bit hit and miss, and while I don't mind this one, I certainly don't think it's worth the price tag.

It's a lightweight, white cream that spreads well and absorbs easily into my normal/dry skin. One thing to note is that it does leave a slight greasy residue, which many people won't be happy with. I don't mind it because I'm always up for a bit of extra grease for my dry skin, but I wouldn't be happy with the greasy finish if I wasn't going to put makeup over the top anyway. So do be aware of the grease factor - particularly if you have oily skin.

Also, while it's good that this product contains sunscreen, I wouldn't rely on it as your only sun protection unless you're going to slather enough on - which most people wouldn't want to do with this product, since a little goes a long way and it is expensive so it's not the best idea to go heavy on the application (plus there's the grease factor mentioned above).

It has a very faint fragrance but it's not one that should bother those who prefer unscented products. The packaging looks luxe and I quite like that it's plastic rather than glass because this makes it more travel friendly.

I do think this product is hydrating, but I don't think it generally meets its claims. I've noticed no difference in my skin over time; I certainly didn't 'look younger in just five days'; and it hasn't helped with loss of firmness/tone or dullness/loss of radiance. It does offer some hydration but I've noticed no difference in my fine lines and there's no plumping effect either.

All in all, I don't think this is a great product - but as mentioned, I do like it better than the matching eye cream and it's one I'm happy enough to use.
