Kérastase Resistance Bain Force Architecte (Shampoo) and Masque Force Architecte (Hair Mask) - review

I received these Kérastase samples in a recent Lust Have It box and I was super excited to see them because I've heard so much about this brand and I'd never tried anything from them.
I was worried at first that I wouldn't get many uses from these because they look quite small, but I was able to use them together five times and that's more than enough for me to work out how I feel about haircare products.

Verdict (shampoo)
I had high expectations for this product and it didn't disappoint. My hair is dry, damaged and brittle, so it's definitely the kind of hair this shampoo is meant to help.
It's quite a rich shampoo but it cleansed well and didn't weigh my hair down or leave it feeling coated.
I do need to double-cleanse with this product but I need to do that with most shampoos (I use a lot of leave-in stuff between washes) so that's nothing unusual. I've also found that I need to use a little more than the recommended amount if I want this shampoo to perform at its best, but my hair is quite long so that's probably why.
It smells nice and leaves my hair beautifully soft and shiny. The only thing it doesn't do well is manage my frizz - particularly around my hairline - but only my recently discovered OGX products can do this so that's nothing unusual either.
All in all, this is a great product but I wouldn't pay $42 for it, and it's not the best haircare I've found - a good thing, considering the price!
Verdict (mask)
This is a good product but I felt the shampoo performed a little better.
As with the shampoo, I need to use more than the recommended amount to get this to perform at its best, but my hair is long so I often need to use more than suggested.
It smells nice and definitely leaves my hair feeling nourished, soft and silky. I don't think it does as good a job as my comparable OGX products, but it still performs better than most haircare I've used.
Having said this, I don't think it's worth the $62 price tag (yikes!), but haircare for me isn't something I want to spend that much on so I'd be unlikely to think it was worth that amount even if it was the best hair treatment I'd ever used.
As with the shampoo, the main thing this mask doesn't do well is manage frizz. Since frizz-taming is super important to me, I wouldn't buy this even if it were significantly cheaper.
I am glad I've tried this though because I've always wanted to use something from these guys, so now I can say I have!
In sum, both these products are lovely but I personally think they're too expensive - especially because I've found cheaper haircare that works better for me.
