Palmer's Indulgent Coconut Body Wash - review
/
0 Comments
I picked this up a while back alongside the matching Palmer's Coconut Oil Body Lotion (I've reviewed that here) because I needed a body cream and the Palmer's range was on special, so I threw both products into my cart without thinking too much.
So glad I did! They both smell amazing and work well for my dry skin, plus even at full price they don't break the bank - so if you can grab them on special and love the smell of coconut, you really can't go wrong.
Don't you love those rushed purchases of basic items like these that turn out well? I do - almost more than falling in love with something I've researched before purchase.
Anyhoo. Let's have a look : )
- Indulge your skin and senses with this luscious body wash
- Leaves skin hydrated and moisturised
- With organic coconut oil, cocoa butter and vitamin e
- Free from sulphates, parabens and phthalates
- Cruetly free
- RRP $5.99 AUD for 400ml, but do shop around
The product comes with a standard flip-top and you can stand it upside down if need be.
I'd prefer a pump (I always do), but that's just a small detail and of course it all comes down to personal preference.
Verdict
This is a really lovely body wash. While I'd only meant to buy the matching lotion, I'm so glad I decided to throw this in my cart too because it's one of the best budget body washes I've used in ages and I can see myself buying it again.
It's a cloudy white gel that feels quite creamy in texture, and I knew from the first use that it wouldn't dry out my already dry skin - even with daily use. I've had issues with some cheaper body washes being too astringent lately, so I'm glad I've found one that isn't because I hate gels that strip the skin.
Plus I love the scent: yes it smells like coconut, but it's a different kind of coconut than the one I'm used to in skincare. While I like the standard 'fake' coconut scent that's in other products, I like this even more - it's fresher and more real to me than others. It's like I've just opened a bag of shredded coconut whenever I use this, and the scent alone is reason enough for me to buy it!
I've tried the product without a shower puff and it doesn't lather well on its own. This doesn't mean it doesn't clean well (it does), but it's something to be aware of so if you like your products to lather up, I'd definitely use a puff with this because you'll get more foam and more bang for your buck. (I always use less product with a puff than I do without one anyway: I'm sure others would say the same.)
After use, my skin feels clean, soft and nourished, and the faintest coconut scent is left behind that's only detectable if I lift my hands to my nose - so it's not overpowering but it's definitely there. Yum.

All in all, this is a fantastic budget body wash and I recommend it. It smells divine, cleans well and doesn't strip or irritate my dry, sensitive skin. Plus it's readily available in chemists and supermarkets, and you'll often find it on special somewhere so it's worth shopping around and picking this up for a few dollars when you can.
Love.
