Pixi Nourishing Sleep Mask - review
/
0 Comments
If you read this blog, you'll know that I made a Beautybay order a while back, making use of a discount promotion and choosing a few Pixi products that I'd been itching to try.
This is the third one I've opened, and thankfully I like it much more than I liked the first two (there's one to go). The fabled Pixi Glow Tonic (reviewed here) wasn't bad but it paled in comparison to my HG Alpha-H Liquid Gold, and the Pixi Glow Mist (reviewed here) is so oily on my dry skin that I can't use it so it's currently gathering dust.
This Pixi Nourishing Sleep Mask, however, is an excellent product and I'm loving it so much that I can see myself buying it again.
It does exactly what it's meant to do and I always notice a difference when I use it, and with so many expensive overnight creams flooding the market these days, it's nice to find one that won't break the bank. More on all that in a sec.
Pixi claims/product details:
- An intensive youth-preserving mask that deeply hydrates and repairs the complexion overnight
- Provides a nutrient-rich veil of moisture to heal and protect your skin while you sleep
- The formula is rich in fruit and flower oils to soothe, arginine to strengthen, and hyaluronic acid to plump
- Deeply nourishes skin, leaving it silky-smooth to the touch
- Seals in any serum or treatment applied underneath
- To use: apply a thin layer onto clean skin as the last step in your nighttime skincare routine; leave on overnight and rinse off in the morning; use 2 to 3 times per week
- RRP $29 AUD for 30ml (see eg Beautybay), but do shop around
Verdict
This is a gorgeous product and I'm so glad I bought it: it's been great for my dry, dehydrated skin and I've been moving through my tube all too quickly - I don't want to finish it!
It's a rich, white cream that isn't too thick or heavy on the skin, so don't shy away from this if you don't like heavy products because this never feels like too much (at least for me). It has a barely detectable fresh, creamy scent and a little goes a long way so you don't need to apply much because it spreads and absorbs so well.
As soon as I use it, my skin looks and feels like it's had a drink. It's soothing and cooling when applied, and I enjoy using it for that reason alone because it feels so refreshing and gives my dry skin some instant relief.
After applying it, my skin feels nourished and comfortable, and I wake up to soft, hydrated skin that looks and feels a damn sight better than it did the night before. Honestly, I'd consider using this as my standard night cream so then I could use it every night: my skin loves it that much. Plus it's not so expensive that my wallet would mind if I used it more often.
On the claims: yes this does deeply hydrate the skin; yes it does feel protective; I'm not sure whether it repairs and heals the complexion, but I'm prepared to believe it does because it feels so good; and yes it definitely soothes and plumps my dry skin. It also nourishes and leaves my face feeling silky-smooth as claimed, and I suspect it does seal in any serum or treatment applied underneath because it does add a protective barrier that my skin enjoys.
Do note that I've tried the famous Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask and, for me, this product performs much better and I would recommend this over that in a heartbeat. For some reason the Origins product doesn't do what it's meant to for me, but this does: it nourishes and plumps super well and my face always looks and feels much better on the days after I've used it.
Ticks from me. Definitely one I would buy again.
Let me know if you've tried this and what you think of it if so : )
