Benefit Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Coralista - review
/
0 Comments
As mentioned in earlier posts, at the start of November I decided to crack open my two Benefit travel kits: Go Tropicoral and How to Look the Best at Everything (in medium).
I've been playing around with those kits over the last five weeks, and have been reviewing each item in turn.
Next up is Benefit's Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Coralista.
These glosses are inspired by Benefit’s popular boxed blushes. Coralista is a shimmer-free, coral colour. At least, it's meant to be.
The travel size from the Go Tropicoral kit is a nice 6.5ml tube. I wouldn't want more than that anyway - I get bored of lip products all too quickly and prefer them to be smaller so that I have a chance of actually finishing them before they're too old.
Benefit claims/product details:
- Our new plush glosses glide on extra smooth and feel ahhh-mazingly silky and luxurious
- The six irresistible shades, from sultry nudes to punchy pinks, come in soft-squeeze tubes with a custom tip designed for perfectly even application
- Beauty bonus: they’re the perfect partners for our bestselling box o’ powders; to create a beautifully pulled-together look in seconds, pair your favourite gloss with its complementing powder
- RRP $16USD for 15ml; $23AUD
- Available from the Benefit US website or from eg Myer in Oz
See above swatch on hand. While there's colour in the thick blob, you can see it spreads out with basically no colour at all.
Here it is on my lips below. Yep, no colour. Apologies for the wonky photo ; )
Verdict
I'm completely underwhelmed by this. If I wanted a sheer gloss, that's what I would have bought. I was expecting a coral gloss and didn't get one.
Foo.
The formula is fine - it's slick/wet without being sticky, and thick but not too thick. It also applies and spreads well. The gloss is nice enough to wear, it just doesn't last - but most glosses don't, so that's no huge deal.
I haven't been doing particularly well with Benefit, have I?! Foo again.
While I loved the Boi-ing concealer, Coralista (the blush) and The POREfessional didn't do much for me, the Hello Flawless powder was good but not amazeballs, and High Beam was good but not worth the price I reckon.
Hoh well! Glad to have given these products a go.
