Cellbydate The Real Galacto Zero Essence - review

I received this product in Memebox Special #37 Wake Up Makeup.
It was the 'free gift' included with the box and the item I was most excited about.
Unfortunately no product description was on the card for this (and the company's website is in Korean), so I had to do a bit of searching to get some info on it: this included contacting Memebox to hear what they had to say about the product.
Cellbydate claims/product details:
- Uses galactomyces ferment filtrate (aimed sensitive or acne prone skin) and is moisturising, oil and ph balancing, revitalising, soothing and skin boosting
- Also contains vitamins, minerals and amino acids, and doesn't contain parabens, artificial colourings, preservatives, alcohol or fragrance
- RRP $12 for 100ml; received full size
From the looks of things, you could compare it with the (super expensive) SK-II Pitera Essence because it contains the same main ingredient (galactomyces ferment filtrate).
In terms of how to use it, I suspected it was to go after your cleanser but before your moisturiser (like a toner or serum). I contacted Memebox in the end to confirm this, and they said that you use it after cleansing in place of (or in addition to) a toner, but apparently it's more concentrated than a toner and has more benefits (eg the moisturising and skin boosting effects mentioned above).
Verdict
I've been using this since the beginning of November, and unfortunately I haven't noticed much going on with it at all - if anything it feels a little drying (although this might be because it comes before a serum/moisturiser so my skin feels a bit stripped already from the cleansing process).
I also took a week off it in the second week of December, just to see if I noticed any difference in my skin between stopping and starting it again. I didn't.
I'll be interested to see what others think of this product and whether it works for them, particularly because it has the same ingredients as the SK-II Pitera Essence - and so many people rave about that one.
One thing I'll say about it (and I'm not sure whether this is a good thing, considering that the product isn't working so well for me ; )) is that the bottle will last for AGES. Even with frequent use, I've barely made a dent in it because you use so little per application.
No marks from me unfortunately. Bummed about that. Let me know if you've tried this and, if so, what you think.
