Urban Skincare Co Resurrect Hair Wash and Recovery Conditioner - review

Sometimes the best way to know whether a beauty product works well for you is to start using it, see what happens, and then stop and see what happens.
I did that recently with the Suki skincare kit I trialled and confirmed that it was definitely responsible for clearing up my blemishes because they came straight back once I finished the kit; and I've now done it with this shampoo/conditioner pair and confirmed that my hair really likes the conditioner but doesn't love the shampoo.
Urban Skincare Co claims/product details (shampoo):

- For fine and oily hair
- To use: apply a small amount onto wet hair; massage gently then rinse thoroughly with warm water
- RRP $9.95 AUD for 100ml
Urban Skincare Co claims/product details (conditioner):

Verdict
What I noticed when I first used these was that the shampoo doesn't seem to wash that well and I need three washes to get my hair feeling clean enough, and even then it doesn't feel squeaky clean. I would normally stop at two washes and that should be enough. What I've started to do is wash the first layer of gunk off with another product and then use this shampoo twice, and that seems to help the cleaning process. So I wouldn't recommend the shampoo.
What I would recommend however is the conditioner. My hair feels so nourished, soft and shiny after using it that I can't stop touching it! Most conditioners that are nourishing enough for my hair tend to weigh it down and/or leave a film over the top that makes my hair look dull and feel coated. This does none of those things and yet somehow hydrates it enough that it looks better than it has in a long time, and it's not even designed for my hair!
After getting through the first pair of these, I went back to my usual hair products for a couple of weeks and then returned to these ones to confirm that the conditioner was responsible for making the difference to my hair and that I hadn't just experienced a glitch in the matrix. The results were the same and I'm loving how my hair feels at the moment for the first time in a while. I still need to apply a leave-in treatment to the ends after washing, but I would do that anyway so that's no big deal.
In sum, I wouldn't buy the shampoo but I really like the conditioner. I don't normally buy shampoos from one brand and conditioners from another, but I would consider doing that in this case. Do note that I'm not sure how these products would perform on the fine/oily hair they're designed for - they mightn't clean it enough and the conditioner may be too much.
Yay to nice hair.
