Royal Moroccan Hair Mask Treatment - review

This is one of those products that I've been meaning to review for ages (I seem to have a lot of those!). It's been sitting in my draft posts and I'd totally forgotten about it.
I should start off by saying that I'm not normally one to buy special haircare items (and particularly not more expensive ones), but when I picked this up from the Bellabox shop last year, it was 30 per cent off and I had a bundle of points to use too, so I thought I'd treat myself.
I reckon we all have products we're willing to spend money on and products we aren't: eg for me, I'll fork out $ for good skincare especially and also makeup, but tend to 'dismiss' hair and nail products. That's probably a good thing, otherwise I'd have absolutely no money!
Royal Moroccan claims/product details:
- An intensive hair repair for damaged and coloured hair
- Designed to combat the stresses that can leave your hair dry and brittle, and your scalp irritated and itchy
- Contains both argan oil and keratin to soothe and repair
- As well as nourishing follicle and scalp, it protects your colour
- Leaves your hair vibrant and touchably soft
- RRP $29.95 for 250ml, but do shop around
- Available at eg the Bellabox shop
For more info, see the Royal Moroccan website.
Verdict
I absolutely love this mask. My hair is dry, frizzy and unruly, and few products really deal with that well: either they're not heavy enough, or they're too heavy and leave my hair looking limp, greasy and lifeless. This one strikes exactly the right balance.
I use it maybe once a fortnight (I'd use it more often, but you need to leave it in for 5-7 minutes and I don't always have time for that) and I always notice the difference after use. My hair is so much easier to manage and I don't need to spend ages getting the knots out after washing, plus it feels and looks amazing. Interestingly, my husband notices the difference after I use this too.
I would definitely buy this again, I just wouldn't pay full price for it. That's not because I don't think it's worth the outlay (it totally is), but because - as mentioned - I tend to prefer spending money on good skincare than I do on good haircare. With haircare I just use whatever has shown up in my subscription boxes or buy whatever's on special at the supermarket.
But I'll be looking out for this product once the tub is gone. It really is worth it if you have hair that needs some TLC.
Big ticks.
