Indio Age Defence SPF 30+ Sunscreen Cream - review

I received this in my June 2014 Bellabox, and at the time I didn't know how to feel about the product's inclusion in the box.
I would never spend $76 on a dedicated sunscreen, no matter how good it was. I'm much more likely spend $ on a skincare or makeup item, and even then $76 is a big ask (and I'd say most Bellabox subscribers would be the same), so why include it in a box like this one? If Indio is trying to rustle up some customers, I don't think this product is the way to go about it.
Anyhoo, that's just what I think.
Indio claims/product details:
- A lightweight and fast absorbing moisturiser
- Protects skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays
- Packed with vitamin e to keep the skin nourished and supple
- Helps prevent premature skin ageing and sunspots
- To use: apply a generous amount every morning over the face, neck and décolletage, 15-20 minutes before sun exposure
- RRP $76 for 100ml
- Available from eg the Bellabox shop
Verdict
Look, it's a nice sunscreen and I've been carrying it around in my handbag to keep my skin protected throughout the day.
I really don't know what to say about it otherwise - there's nothing in particular to commend it. I haven't broken out like I might from using cheaper sunscreen and it doesn't seem to clog pores, but plenty of other sunscreens are available that perform the same function - for a fraction of the price.
I've also got another high-end facial sunscreen on the go from Memebox (see product here), and it's cheaper and I prefer it. This one isn't a particularly good moisturiser - it's fine but nothing special.
There's nothing wrong with this product but I'd certainly be buying something else if I had a spare $76 lying around. Hell you could head to the Hourglass counter for that price, or buy a really amazing night serum from a reputable brand.
Save your dough!
