Becca Sheer Tint Lip Colour in Milla - review and swatches

As mentioned in my posts on Olesya (see here) and Laelia (see here), I bought three of these on sale from strawberrynet for $6 each, only realising later that they'd been discontinued and the products were likely quite old.
Happily, only Olesya doesn't smell like it's meant to, and both Laelia and Milla are fine. Olesya is still ok, I've just had to put it on my Project Pan list because I can tell it won't last as long as the other two: since the smell has started to change, I suspect it will go off quite quickly - so I'd like to use it up before that happens.
Oh how I love the packaging of these little silver bullets! It's sturdy and heavy and just feels luxe.
You twist the top off to open these, meaning there's no risk of the top falling off on its own if you chuck the product in your handbag.
I've come to appreciate good packaging like this because I've wound up with lipstick through my bag more times over the years than I care to remember.
The Becca lettering on the lid is a nice touch and adds to the luxe feeling of the product.
There's the colour below. It looks a little dark and scary when you first see it but it doesn't look that way once applied.
I've swatched it below. You can see how sheer it is, so don't be frightened by the look of the colour above because it shows up very differently on the lips.
Becca claims/product details:
- A collection of sheer, hydrating lipsticks with subtle shine
- Each contains a cocktail of emollients and antioxidants such as shea butter, cocoa butter, honey and vitamin E
- Moisturises and protects the lips while providing a smooth, even application of creamy colour
- Comes in a sleek metal case with a lid that twists and locks to the base for no-fuss travel and toting in your purse
- Deliciously scented with a natural light vanilla/caramel scent
- Delivers a sheer wash of colour with a soft, creamy shine
- Nourishing and non-drying
- Paraben free
- Sheer colours enhance the lip's natural tones
- Makes lips look healthy, moist and full
- Anti-feathering and anti-bleeding
- Shelf-life after opening: 6 months
- RRP $48 AUD for 3g, but do shop around (I got mine for $6!)
My bare lips for reference:

Verdict
Of the three Becca tints I purchased, this one feels and smells the newest, and the texture is the lightest. It's also the sheerest of the three, which I'm happy about because it is quite a strong colour and not one I would often wear if it applied the way it looks.
Unlike Olesya, this one smells like it's meant to: it has the caramel vanilla scent that Becca mentions and other reviewers have commented on, and it's a scent I quite like.
As to the product itself, I'm going to largely repeat what I said about Laelia, so forgive me for quoting myself (!):
This has to be one of the best lip formulas I've tried. It's so rich and creamy, and this particular shade is sheerer than the other two but still adds a nice wash of colour. It's a product that allows your natural lip colour to shine through and alter the shade, meaning it's more likely to suit you and not look too in-your-face.
Milla is a rich burgundy/wine shade that applies so gently that you can use it as a 'my lips but better' shade if you don't apply too much of it. It's the kind of colour that I can wear with just about anything and it won't overtake my face.

The formula is super moisturising and a dream to wear. There's something luxurious about it and I love how it feels on the lips.
It also stays put much longer than you might expect, given how creamy it is. I can see myself getting a lot of use from this, so it's $6 well-spent.
I love the packaging too, and I do think these products live up to their claims. If they hadn't been discontinued, I would certainly be buying more.
One bad thing is that these products have a short, six-month shelf-life, and I've seen other reviewers say that these do tend to go off faster than other lipsticks, so do be aware of that.
I won't give it an HG tag - only because it's been discontinued - but otherwise I would.
Love. Huge ticks from me.
