Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater - review

As mentioned a few days ago, I'm making November Mario Badescu month because I have a couple of full size products lying around (including this one) plus a travel kit containing five items, and I wanted to give the range a good try to see how I liked it.
I bought this facial spray months ago but only opened it in September because I needed to get through another face mist first. I bought it because I'd seen so many bloggers rave about it (some claiming that it's better than MAC's Fix+) and since it only costs $9, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and try it for myself.
I do really like it, but it doesn't take five years off my face - which is what I've always loved about the MAC product - although at this low price point, I can see myself buying it again and again. Plus I've not found any other cheaper product that performs this well, so I'd recommend it for that reason alone.
Mario Badescu claims/product details:
- A refreshing, hydrating mist to use anywhere, any time
- Formulated simply with fragrant herbal extracts and rosewater for a pleasant, pick me up for dehydrated, tight and uncomfortable skin
- Safe for all skin types; gentle, non-irritating
- To use: spray over your day and night creams for a boost of hydration; use it to set makeup; or spray on dry hair throughout the day
- RRP $9 AUD for 118ml
It's a light, refreshing spray that smells like rosewater and feels nice on the skin. It's also quite soothing and it's perfect for misting over your face during the day to keep your skin hydrated.
I also think it has a brightening effect, although it's not as good as MAC Fix+ when it comes to the brightening (and plumping) thing, at least in my opinion.
I use it not only to keep my skin hydrated throughout the day, but also to set makeup - and I think it works well for that purpose.
I have tried it on my hair but it didn't add anything, but my hair is dry and frizzy so it generally needs products with more punch.
On the product claims: it's definitely refreshing and hydrating; it does offer a pick-me-up for dehydrated skin; and it is gentle and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. I also like that it's a simple formula and not tested on animals, and I think it has a calming effect too.
Overall, this is a great little product and one I will repurchase. While it's not my HG facial mist, it's definitely up there and I reckon you'd struggle to find something this good for the price.
Lovely.
