Alpha-H Cleansing Cube - review
/
0 Comments
I'm not a soap person but I've wanted to try this product for a while because I love Alpha-H and I'd also heard good things about it.
Unfortunately it's not that great and I'm really not sure what all the fuss is about, or perhaps it's just that it doesn't do anything for me - plus it dries out my skin so it's not something I've enjoyed using. More on that below.
Alpha-H claims/product details:
- Introducing a fresh and gentle daily bathing routine for the face and body
- Our cleansing cube with crushed cranberries is a new way to cleanse and buff the skin, leaving it refreshed and awakened by our beautifying, hydrating ingredients
- Cleanses the skin without stripping
- Low pH
- Perfect alternative for those suffering from eczema and other sensitive skin conditions
- Soothing, exfoliating properties
- RRP $13.95 AUD for 100g, but do shop around (I bought mine for around $10)
Verdict
This product doesn't work well for my skin and I'm not sure why so many people love it.
It's a standard soap that lathers a tiny bit when you add water, although it doesn't lather much. While you can use it on the face, I've mostly been using mine on the body because I don't love soap for my face and I would rather use my cleanser for that purpose.
Note that while this feels hydrating in theory, after use my skin always feels dry - so this product isn't as gentle and nourishing as claimed, at least where my skin's concerned.
The other thing to note is that although this claims to have a low pH, my pH strips are telling me that it rates at somewhere between a 9 and a 10. That's high, and it certainly explains why my skin has been feeling dry after use.
The good news however is that it does clean well, and it not only works to clean my body (especially in the sweaty summer heat), but also to wash off my makeup if I do want to use it on my face (which I usually don't).
Otherwise there's not much to say about this product other than that I don't love it and I wouldn't buy it again. It's too drying for my dry skin, and while I don't normally notice drying products on my body, I do with this so that's worth noting.
Not for me.
