'Tini Beauty Eyeshadow (Pearl Fizz) by Rob Scheppy - review

We received this eyeshadow in April's Violet Box (reviewed here) and I reckon it will end up being my favourite item in the box.
I absolutely love gold highlighters, and while this is technically an eyeshadow, it's one of those products that you can use in a few different ways and it's quickly become my new favourite inner corner highlight because it's so subtle and such a great colour.
I'm not a huge fan of the cheap packaging and the clear lid - I prefer my products to be completely hidden from light because sometimes exposure to light can decrease a product's shelf-life.
I am however a fan of the beautiful, muted colour. If you want a sheer, natural look, this is a great product to help you achieve that.
See below swatch on my arm. I've left it slightly out of focus so you can see that this isn't a product that contains noticeable glitter, but rather one that delivers a soft sheen.
As you may know I generally prefer sheen over sparkles because I love a natural look and you certainly can't achieve that with glitter on your face!

ceresin, microcrystalline wax, isododecane, decamethylcyclopentasiloxane, paraffin, isopropyl myristate, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, propylparaben, bht. may contain +/-: mica, titanium dioxide (ci 77891), red iron oxide (ci 77491), yellow iron oxide (ci 77492), black iron oxide (ci77499), fd&c yellow no.5 lake (ci 19140), fd&c blue no.1 lake (ci 42090), fd&c red no.40 lake (ci 16035) mangaese violet (ci 77742)
Above and below I've applied the shadow to my lids and inner corners. As usual I've gone for a more subtle, natural look but you could certainly apply this more heavily (or even wet) if you wanted something bolder.
Verdict
I'm so excited about this product that I almost gave it an HG tag, but decided not to because I think it's a little expensive for a single eyeshadow and the packaging could be more sturdy (it feels and looks cheap).
As for the shadow itself, I love everything about it and I also love that it's multi-purpose: you can not only use it on your eye area but also on your browbones and your cheekbones for a subtle, sheer highlight. Indeed, I like it so much that I'm trying to pick up a second via the FB Violet Box swap group.
I reckon the colour is just beautiful: it's a muted, champagne gold and I love it. Best of all, it's sheer so you can build it to your desired level of impact or just leave it as a natural wash of sheen that really brightens the eye area without making you look overdone.

Also lovely is the texture - it's soft and buttery without being crumbly - and it applies and blends well. As mentioned above, I'm super glad this gives a sheen instead of a shimmer: most days I prefer a more natural look and this delivers that if you want it to, but can also be used for more punch by applying more of it (or applying it wet) if that's the look you're after.
Best of all, it doesn't transfer to my puffy upper eye area, as most shadows do because of the rubbing that occurs when I blink. Very few shadows manage to achieve this, and while there was a tiny bit of transfer when I trialled it without a primer, it wasn't much and it was only noticeable if I looked really closely.
On top of that, this shadow performs better in terms of lasting power than most of my other eyeshadows, including the high-end ones. With a primer, this lasted for 12 hours on me without any transferring, fading or creasing, and who knows how long it would have lasted if I didn't remove it after that time.
Without a primer, it lasted for 8 hours (at which point I had a shower - so again, it could have lasted longer), and I noticed no creasing but it had faded a touch and there was a small amount of transfer to my upper eye area, but not enough to be noticeable unless I had a good look.
LOVE. Just goes to show that you don't need to head to the high-end counter for a beautiful product that performs well.
