Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex - review

I started using this eye cream over two months ago as part of one of my 'fun new things' posts, and I realised last night that not only have I almost finished it so I need to review it, but I also haven't updated my 'fun new things' post so I'll need to do that soon too.

Long story short, I don't mind the product but it hasn't done anything amazing for me so I wouldn't spend the money on it, and it's expensive so it would want to be good for me to buy it. But I haven't seen great results with this so it's safe to say that it's not for me.

Verdict

While I think this is an ok eye cream, it hasn't done anything amazing for me so I wouldn't buy it - especially considering how expensive it is.

It's a gel/cream hybrid that's quite light in texture but it has a silicone-y feel and slip to it so I'm not surprised that it doesn't feel as though it absorbs properly into my skin.

While I like how rich the product feels on my skin, my eyes always feel a little dry after use and I'm aware that they're not as hydrated as I would like throughout the day. They also feel a bit dry to the touch after I've used this, and I can feel the silicone on my skin after use.

Do note that I've seen some reviews of this product and most people think it works wonders (see eg beautyheaven's website), but it hasn't done anything amazing for me over the testing period so I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. Obviously it just doesn't gel with my skin.

On the claims: no it hasn't prevented or repaired the visible impact of lack of sleep or pollution etc; no it's not that hydrating on my dry skin; no it hasn't reduced the look of lines, puffiness or dryness; and no it hasn't brightened the look of dark circles in three weeks. I also don't think that it has left my eyes looking younger, renewed or recharged.

Overall I think this eye cream is ok but it hasn't done anything amazing for me so I wouldn't buy it. My main issue with it is that it's not hydrating enough for my skin, but I haven't seen any of the benefits mentioned in the claims either, so it's safe to say that it's not for me.

Doesn't do enough for my eyes.
