Trilogy Ultra Hydrating Hand Cream - review

I've owned this hand cream for ages now and I've kept meaning to review it, but I've also had other more pressing reviews to write so it's taken me some time to get to it.

Hoh well. We're here now. I do like it, although I wouldn't rush out and buy it again because it leaves too much of a residue so I can only use it for night. Still, I enjoy it for the overnight spot so that's something. More on that below.

Trilogy claims/product details:

  • A rich cream that absorbs quickly and easily into the skin to deliver intense hydration, antioxidant protection and smooth, soft hands
  • Marula and certified organic rosehip oils plus manuka honey soften and protect the hands
  • Oat extract soothes dry, chapped skin and provides a barrier against moisture loss, while antioxidant-rich white tea extract rejuvenates skin and helps protect against free radical damage
  • Smells of sweet orange, amber and vanilla
  • RRP $21.95 AUD for 75ml, but do shop around (I bought mine at half-price)

Verdict

I don't mind this hand cream but I do prefer products that I can use for both day and night so I probably wouldn't buy it again. Still, it does work and I've seen a lot of people swear by it, so it's definitely worth trying.

It's a white cream that's on the thick and rich side, and it smells like vanilla, orange and amber. It spreads and absorbs well, and I like how hydrating and nourishing it feels on the skin.

Once applied, this leaves a slightly greasy residue that's fine for night use but I don't like applying it during the day because I need to wipe my hands down before I use my computer or get in the car. I don't like having to do that (with a toddler and a pre-schooler, it's hard enough to find the time to apply hand cream in the first place), so I tend to use things I can whack on at any time of day because that makes my life easier.

On the claims: yes it's rich and it absorbs quickly and easily into the skin; yes it hydrates and leaves me with smooth, soft hands; yes it leaves behind a residue that I feel has a protective element; and yes it smells like sweet orange, amber and vanilla.

Otherwise there's not a huge amount to say about this product: it's just a hand cream that hydrates nicely and is good for the overnight spot. I also think it would be a good product for winter when my dry hands are even drier than usual.

On top of that, it's not too expensive - although I personally would only ever buy it on special because I prefer not to spend too much on hand creams, but at least you get a decent 75ml with this and it should last for ages.

Nice, but not my favourite.
