Inika Certified Organic Eyeliner in Black Caviar - review
/
0 Comments
We received this black eyeliner in October 2014's Lust Have It Women's Box.
Bored as I am with black eyeliners (we've received too many from LHI and I prefer brown ones because they look more natural), Inika is a decent brand and I was happy to give this a go.
If you don't know anything about Inika, essentially the brand creates certified organic makeup that's also vegan, halal and cruelty-free. For more information, see Inika's website.
- Handcrafted
- Contains natural plant ingredients and mineral colour blends
- Comes with an in-built sharpener
- Soft, creamy texture that wears all day without smudging
- Certified organic, vegan, halal and cruelty-free
- RRP $29 for 1.2g
- Shelf-life after opening: 36 months
See swatch above. On the left I gave it a good wipe, which did remove some of the product, but fortunately this didn't transfer on my eyes (see below).
I'm really surprised that this stayed put to be honest: it's so hard for me to find eyeliners that don't immediately transfer themselves as soon as I blink because I have puffy eyes. You would normally see a line appear above my eyes straight away, but this one hasn't moved. Huzzah!
Below I've applied it to the waterline. It doesn't adhere super well there, so you don't get a really pronounced line - but I actually prefer that because it looks more natural.
Verdict
Bored as I am with black eyeliners, this is a good product.
It's nicely smooth and pigmented, applies well and doesn't transfer easily - something that happens to me all too often because as mentioned I have puffy eyes and the lids rub against the upper eye area, moving eyeliners quickly and leaving me looking like the proverbial panda.
This one wears pretty well however without the need for too much re-application throughout the day, and it's easy enough to wash off too.
It glides on well and I love that it comes with a sharpener included - so it would be good to travel with because you don't need to pack a separate sharpener.
You also have to love that it's organic and cruelty free etc, and in my experience, organic products often don't perform as well as other products - but this one does.
A great product.
