Pantene Ultimate 10 Repair & Protect Shampoo & Conditioner - review
/
0 Comments
I received this Pantene shampoo and conditioner because I'm part of a trial team, and I've been happily testing them out over the past couple of months.
While I do like them (especially the scent!), I'm not sure I'd buy them because I've found products that do more for my frizz than these do. That being said, they're good products and I'd recommend trying them if frizz-management isn't what you're after first and foremost.
Pantene claims/product details (shampoo and conditioner):
- For weak, damaged hair
- 10-in-1 multitasker that helps prevent damage, strengthens and smooths
- Helps prevent split ends
- Strengthens against breakage
- Smoothes
- Moisturises
- Softens
- Reveals shine
- Improves manageability
- Detangles
- Restores natural volume
- Provides balanced cleansing
- Penetrates into the hair’s core
- RRP $7.99 AUD for 350ml, but do shop around
Verdict (shampoo)
The first thing I noticed about this shampoo and its matching conditioner is that they both smell divine - fresh and fruity - and that's almost reason enough to use them for me!
The second thing I noticed about the shampoo is that it cleans really well. I have dry hair and I tend to use hydrating products and leave-in treatments that can really weigh my hair down, and this shampoo removed everything with just one wash. I do double-wash my hair each time, but I almost don't need to with this product because it does such a great job of cleaning.
On that, it also removed build-up from the haircare I was using prior to this, so for me it has a clarifying effect too.
What's fantastic about this shampoo is that it leaves my hair feeling squeaky clean but never stripped. My hair just feels light, fluffy and soft after washing, and it's more manageable too.
I've also found that the shampoo/conditioner combo leaves my hair so clean and shiny that I need to wash it less: I normally wash my dry hair every five days, but with these products I can push it out to seven or eight days (without having to use dry shampoo).
The only bad thing about this product is that it does nothing for my frizz and I still need to use de-frizzing products after washing, which I don't with some other haircare. But that's a small price to pay for products that otherwise tick all the boxes, and it's something I can live with.
All in all, this is a great shampoo and I recommend it. My hair hasn't felt this clean in ages, which means it's looking more shiny than usual too. While I mightn't buy it because I'd prefer something that does more for my frizz, it's still on my radar as a decent clarifying shampoo to remove build-up from other products.
Verdict (conditioner)
The first thing I noticed about this conditioner is that it smells just as divine as the shampoo. Honestly, I get a lift from these whenever I use them - and that's definitely something that earns points for the products in my books.
The second thing I noticed is that it conditions my hair without weighing it down. I have dry hair so I use hydrating products and leave-in treatments, which can often leave my hair looking dull and overloaded with product. This conditioner doesn't do that, but it still nourishes my locks well.
The shampoo/conditioner combined leave my hair feeling light, fluffy and soft after washing, and it's more manageable too.
And as mentioned above, I've also found that the shampoo/conditioner combo leaves my hair so clean and shiny that I need to wash it less: I normally wash my dry hair every five days, but with these products I can push it out to seven or eight days (without having to use dry shampoo).
As with the shampoo, the only bad thing about this conditioner is that it does nothing for my frizz and I still need to use de-frizzing products after washing, which I don't with some other haircare. That's the only reason why I wouldn't rush out and buy this, because de-frizzing is important for me and I'd prefer to manage the issue from the washing stage (rather than relying on leave-in gunk, which builds up super quickly and adds extra work).
All in all, this is a great conditioner and I recommend it. My hair looks super shiny and feels hydrated without feeling heavy, and it's more manageable than usual too.
Recommended.
