Alpha-H Beauty Sleep Power Mist - review
/
2 Comments
You know me - I'm a total Alpha-H junkie - but I've finally come across a product from the brand that does less than nothing for me.
It's not quite so bad that it warrants a 'disappointing products' tag and I have found a way at least to use it (it makes a passable toner), but it's definitely not one I recommend and I'm not entirely sure where Alpha-H was going with this.
- Supercharge your beauty sleep and wake up to radiant, younger-looking skin
- An essential for any routine
- Designed for all skin types but particularly mature, dull or dehydrated skin types will see an improvement
- This hydrating antioxidant mist contains an unrivaled Liposome complex that contains a multitude of vitamins to nourish the skin
- Vitamin ABCDE Liposome fortifies skin cells against the signs of ageing, including lines and age spots
- Contains a specialised green algae, Chronodyn, which triggers cell metabolism - stimulating calcium release and strengthening the skin's ability to assure its regenerative function
- Also contains relaxing essential oils to calm the mind while your skin is hard at work restoring and regenerating
- To use: hold 20cm from the skin and spray liberally; intended to use under or over the Beauty Sleep Power Peel for maximum moisturising benefits and to reactivate the fruit enzymes present in the peel; may be used twice daily
- RRP $19.95 AUD for 30ml, but do shop around
Verdict
This has done nothing for me. Sure it feels quite nice to apply - soothing and cooling - but I've noticed no benefits from using it, and I used the remains of the product today so I've definitely given it a good test run.
It's a standard facial spray that smells like lavender. This mist isn't fine so I wouldn't use this over makeup (it's not designed for that, but anyway), and to start with I was using it at night as directed, but when that did nothing for me, I thought bugger this I'll use it as a toner.
It makes a nice toner. Not an amazing one and certainly not one that's worth the twenty dollar price-tag for only 30ml of product, but I'm glad I've been able to find some use for it - otherwise it would have been a complete waste.
What I do is apply some to a cotton pad and then wipe it over my face after cleansing, and it does a good job of removing the last bits of gunk from my skin but that's about it.
On the claims: as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't meet any of them - and you know I'm a huge supporter of Alpha-H (so many of the brand's products work well for me), so it's unusual for me to come across one that doesn't hit the mark.
Note also that I own and love the Alpha-H Beauty Sleep Power Peel (reviewed here) and I don't see any benefit to using this spray in conjunction with that product, so I would personally skip the spray and save your pennies for the peel.
Otherwise there's not much else to say. Do let me know if you've tried this product and had more luck than I have: maybe I just haven't found the right way to use it.
