A'kin Natural Deodorant - review
/
0 Comments
I received this product a while ago in a Priceline goodies bag, and I recently included it in one of my larger samples posts to encourage myself to use it.
I was interested to try it because I've found myself becoming more sensitive to normal deodorants in my old age, so I've been open to trying natural ones - it's just that my past experience of natural deodorants has been that they generally don't work.
This one does. Huzzah! I had a $5 discount token so I bought the full-size today, and it may well be the only deodorant I buy myself from now on.
A'kin claims/product details:
- Natural deodorant that's free from triclosan, aluminium* and zinc*, with natural odour control technology (*formulated without aluminium salts or zinc phenosulfonate)
- Providing odour-neutralising care, this product contains a delicate blend of geranium, cedarwood and patchouli oil (selected for their deodorising properties), leaving your skin feeling clean, refreshed and comfortable
- To use: after cleansing, spray directly onto underarm area
- RRP $9.95 AUD for 150ml, but do shop around
Verdict
This is a great natural deodorant and it's the first one I've found that works beautifully for me.
It comes in a spray bottle and I can smell the geranium, cedarwood and patchuli oil as soon as I spritz it, and the soft scent of patchuli is left on my skin for a good while after use.
Over the last year or so, I started to realise that the normal deodorants I buy just weren't working for me anymore. They were leaving me with seriously itchy skin - to the point that I was often in discomfort overnight - and my skin also started flaking off under my arms, which it had never done before. Eek.
So I knew I would have to start buying natural deodorants as soon as I could, but it's taken me a while to find one that works - and thank golly this little sample was included in the Priceline bag because I mightn't have known it existed otherwise.
Each evening, after my shower, I spray three to four pumps under each arm and, believe it or not, the damn stuff works. Woot woot! I mean, not only were my old deodorants causing irritation on my underarms, but they weren't deodorising well like they used to either so my clothes have been on the nose earlier than they should be. Not anymore.
There's not much else I can say about this product other than that I love it: it stops me from getting stinky under the arms and I only need to apply it once every 24 hours. Plus it doesn't irritate my skin and it's not super expensive, so it's a winner in my books.
Worth trying.
