Hask Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Shine Oil - review

I added this product to my Project Pan list last month and I'm so glad I did because I'm really enjoying it: it's easily one of the best hair oils I've ever used.
Indeed, I've given it an HG tag because it's been so long since I've been this excited over a hair product (my hair is temperamental so I struggle with haircare), and I would absolutely buy it again.
Hask claims/product details:
- Moisturises and revitalises
- This lightweight, alcohol-free and instantly absorbing oil provides beautiful shine with no oily residue
- Monoi oil, native to Tahiti, is known for its re-hydrating and softening qualities and for leaving your hair nourished, moisturised and revived
- Ideal for all hair types, this shine oil’s delicious coconut scent will awaken your senses
- Free of: sulphates, parabens, phthalates, gluten and drying alcohol
- RRP $4.99 AUD for 18ml, but do shop around
Verdict
I'm really enjoying this hair oil and I'm glad I've found it because I've had so many issues finding hair oils that work well for me.
It's a medium-thick oil with a coconut scent. I like that these Hask oils come in small bottles: I don't want large hair oils because I struggle to get through them, but these little vials I can get through within a few months of regular use.
I loved this oil from the first time I tried it. As soon as I used it, I could tell that it was binding with my hair and delivering goodness - rather than sitting on top of the hair and weighing it down like so many oils have done for me before.
In terms of results, what I notice is that this immediately thickens my hair and adds some shine. It also has a nourishing effect so my hair feels more moisturised and in better condition after use, but it doesn't feel heavy or look dull and coated.
It also has a detangling effect so I typically apply it after I've washed my hair but before I brush it, and it helps get the knots out. It also makes my hair more manageable and easier to straighten, and it doesn't get as knotty between washes when I use it - plus it makes my locks sit better too.
On the claims: yes it moisturises and revitalises; yes it absorbs instantly; yes it offers beautiful shine with no oily residue; and yes it softens and hydrates my hair, leaving it feeling nourished.
Overall I love this product and I can't fault it. It's cheap, it works and it does great things for my long, dry, frizzy and wavy hair. I've given it an HG tag.
Love.
