Love Beauty and Planet Murmuru Butter & Rose Oil Aroma Body Lotion - review
/
0 Comments
Yesterday I reviewed the matching body wash from this brand (see here) and I'm back today to review this body lotion. Both products were sent to me for review, and I'm always grateful to receive new things to try.
Unfortunately, however, neither product works for me. The body wash was drying and stripped my skin, and this body lotion just doesn't want to absorb! More on that below.
Love Beauty and Planet claims/product details:
- Ready to discover your ultimate glow?
- This body lotion is infused with Amazonian murumuru butter, which is known for revealing soft and glowing skin
- Handpicked rose petals give the product a warm, indulgent scent
- Made with plant-based moisturisers and no parabens, silicones or dyes
- RRP $13.99 AUD for 400ml, but do shop around
Verdict
This body lotion doesn't work for me, although I've seen that it's had some great reviews online (see eg beautyheaven's website), so it obviously works well for others but just doesn't gel with my skin.
It's a thin lotion with a strong, sweet scent: I smell rose and coconut. While I don't mind body products that smell nice, this scent is too strong and too sweet for me personally (plus it lingers after application) - and do note that it contains fragrance, which can be an irritant to skin.
While thin products normally absorb well, this one doesn't for me. After application I'm always left with white streaks everywhere that take me far too long to rub in - to the point that I often give up and leave the streaks there because I have two pre-schoolers and don't have time for all that.
I also find that, for my dry skin, the product isn't as hydrating as I would like (which probably has a lot do with the fact that it doesn't absorb easily into my skin). Yes it does hydrate a little bit so it should suit those with normal to oily skin, but my skin needs something with more punch - especially in the cooler months.
The good news is that the bottle comes with a pump, which I appreciate because I find that much easier. The packaging is also made from 100% recycled plastic, which makes me happy because I'm always looking for ways to reduce my environmental impact.
Plus I like that the product doesn't leave a tacky finish, so it should suit those who prefer products that don't leave them feeling sticky after use.
Overall I don't hate this product but it doesn't suit my personal needs so I wouldn't buy it. The scent is also too much for me so I don't enjoy the experience of using it - but of course, as always that comes down to personal preference and I'm sure that plenty of people will enjoy the fragrance.
Ok but not something I would buy.
