Alpha-H Essential Hydration Cream - review
/
0 Comments
You may remember that I did an unboxing post for Alpha-H's The Essentials Collection a while ago (see here) and I'm back today to review another item from the set, being this Essential Hydration Cream.
If you're interested, I reviewed the Essential Cleansing Balm recently (see here) and I will eventually do a round-up post on the set as a whole - once I've reviewed the oil - so stay tuned for that if you're interested.
Anyhoo. This cream. I like it. A lot. And it's been on my list of things to try for an eternity, so I'm glad I've finally had the chance to try it!
- An aromatic soothing cream formulated with rose geranium, evening primrose oil and essential fatty acids
- Brings immediate relief and comfort to parched and irritated skins
- A non-glycolic formula that's ideal for diffused redness and sensitivities
- Nourishes, protects and repairs sensitive, dry and delicate skins
- Contains ingredients designed to reduce redness and rebuild broken capillaries
- High in essential fatty acids and essential oils to soothe and heal the skin
- Protects elastin and collagen fibres while promoting healthy collagen production
- Antioxidants neutralise free radicals and promote a healthy complexion
- For all skin types
- RRP $51.95 AUD for 50ml, but do shop around (you should be able to find it for around $40 AUD)
Verdict
I really enjoy this cream and I recommend it: it's perfect for those who need good moisture but don't want anything with bells and whistles.
It's a white cream with a fresh floral scent. What I like about it is that it's almost a hybrid gel/cream in texture, so it's lightweight and it sits beautifully under makeup. While many Alpha-H products seem better geared for mature or dry skin, I agree that this should suit most skin types because it's not too heavy and it doesn't clog pores.
What I love about this is that it feels beautifully soothing, refreshing and cooling when applied. While I personally don't suffer from redness, I can definitely see how something like this would help those that do. It's also a great product to put on irritated skin (eg after you've just used a chemical peel or exfoliant) because it's so soothing and calming on the skin.
I've been using mine morning and evening for the last six weeks and I've really enjoyed it. Although it hasn't done anything specific for me (eg, reduced the look of wrinkles), it has kept my dry skin feeling moisturised and comfortable - which is all I really need it to do.
Yes I do normally use active ingredients in my skincare, but they're not usually contained in my moisturisers (eg you'll often find them in my serums), so a plain moisturiser like this suits me perfectly because it seals everything in and keeps my skin feeling happy.
On the claims: yes this is soothing; yes it brings immediate relief and comfort to parched and irritated skin; yes I can see how it would be good for redness and sensitive skin (although I personally don't normally suffer from such things); yes it nourishes, protects and repairs dry skin; and yes it promotes a healthy-looking complexion.
Overall I think this is an excellent product and I recommend it. It's reasonably priced and it does exactly what it says it will do.
Love.
