L'Oreal Revitalift Centella Repair Cream - review
/
0 Comments
This cream was kindly sent to me for review via one of the review crews I'm part of, and I've been using it for over a month now so I'm more than ready to review it.
Long story short, it's not for me and it has also dried out my already dry, dehydrated skin - so I can't recommend it and I'll be glad to stop using it.
L'Oreal claims/product details:
- Anti-wrinkle and restoring daily moisturiser that's suitable for sensitive skin
- Enriched with Centella Asiatica, otherwise known as Tiger Grass, which is extraordinarily effective at repairing the signs of ageing
- Formulated for sensitive skin, this hypoallergenic, smooth and luxurious cream quickly absorbs into the skin with a non-greasy finish
- Wrinkles are reduced, the skin's barrier is repaired and elasticity is restored
- The skin is left hydrated and supple
- After four weeks, fine lines and wrinkles are visibly reduced and skin is firmer
- RRP $34.99 AUD for 40ml, but do shop around
Verdict
I could tell from the moment I used this that it's not the right product for my dry, dehydrated skin - and that opinion hasn't changed over time.
It's a thick, white cream that's quite heavily fragranced - so I would avoid this if you don't like fragrance in your skincare. While I'm normally not too bad with scented skincare, I do find this to be a little too much so that's something to be aware of.
The product has that thick, slightly grainy feel of something with a lot of silicone in it, so I wasn't surprised to see dimethicone as the fourth listed ingredient. I know that a lot of people have issues with silicones breaking them out, so I would avoid this product if that's you.
The problem I've personally found with silicone-heavy moisturisers is that they don't moisturise very well, and instead sit of top of the skin and don't deliver the nourishment I need. I've certainly found that to be the case with this product, and my skin always feels dry and uncomfortable underneath it so I've needed to put an oil down first when I use it.
Worth noting is that it also leaves a greasy, silicone-y coating on the skin so it's a bit slippery and I don't find that it sits that well under makeup (my makeup tends to slip around when I'm using this, especially when it's hot).
I also don't feel that it's done anything for my wrinkles over time, and if anything, it's made those look more pronounced because it has dried my skin out. So in my view this product doesn't meet any of its claims and I definitely don't recommend it.
Not for me.
