Estée Lauder Advanced Time Zone Age Reversing Line/Wrinkle Eye Crème - review

I seem to have been on the search for an HG eye product FOREVER.
Well not quite forever. Five years ago I could probably have used just about anything, but turns out that as you get older, you can't just whack anything on your face and the eye creams I've tried over the last year or two have (mostly) not hit the mark.
Unfortunately this one is so exception, so it's back to the drawing board for me. Foo.
Estée Lauder claims/product details:
- Helps rewind the visible signs of ageing around your eyes
- Instantly, the delicate skin around your eyes appears smoother and more radiant
- Lines, wrinkles and crow's feet all look reduced, and their future appearance is discouraged
- Our revolutionary Tri-HA Cell Signaling Complex™ helps skin boost its natural production of line-plumping hyaluronic acid by 182% in just 3 days* (*in vitro testing of Tri-HA Cell Signaling Complex™ ingredient)
- Helps skin boost its natural support structure
- For all skin types
- Ideal for loss of firmness and tone, dryness/dehydration, dullness and loss of radiance
- Ophthalmologist and dermatologist tested; won't clog pores
- To use: apply AM and PM around eye area
- RRP $78 for 15ml, but do shop around
Verdict
Unfortunately this cream doesn't do anything for my eye area. I'm disappointed about that because I've had good luck with many Estée Lauder products, but this one doesn't quite hit the mark.
It's a thick white cream that looks rich but doesn't feel rich when applied. It also doesn't absorb as easily or well as I would hope, and I need to work at getting it to sink in. I think something about the texture stops it from delivering benefits to my skin, or it could just be that the ingredients don't work for me (or a combination of both).
Once applied, I'd hoped that it would have a plumping, brightening effect, but it does neither of those things and if anything my skin looks more dull after use.
I've mentioned before that I have a pesky wrinkle over one of my eyes that appears when I use a 'lesser' eye cream: that wrinkle has appeared since I started using this product and I've had to apply a little face oil over that eye to combat the problem. This means the cream is definitely not hydrating enough for my skin and I wouldn't recommend it for that reason alone.
On the claims: it does nothing for my fine lines and wrinkles (either immediately or over time); it doesn't help with firmness and tone, nor does it help with dryness or dehydration; and it definitely doesn't help with dullness or loss of radiance.
Interestingly, despite some raving reviews of this product that I've seen online, Paula's Choice only gives it two stars (see here), and I would have to agree with that assessment.
The cream looks like it's going to be great, but unhappily it offers nothing for my skin.
Low marks from me.
