Tocca Hand Cream in Stella - review

I was given this little hand cream trio for Christmas and I'm finally getting to reviewing the last one from the set. I haven't quite finished the Cleopatra version yet, but I've popped that one in the bathroom for now so I needed one for my bag.

I own the Tocca Stella fragrance, which I love, and I was interested to see whether the hand cream smelled the same. It doesn't quite and I prefer the scent of the fragrance, but this one is still nice.

One of the things I love about this set is that it's so beautifully presented, and I would almost buy it for that reason alone. Plus it's not expensive and the creams are divine.

The set includes three creams based on some of Tocca's fragrances: Stella (Italian Blood Orange), Cleopatra (Grapefruit & Cucumber) and Florence (Bergamot & Gardenia).

This review will look at the Stella hand cream (I've already reviewed the other two), and after this post I'll do a quick round-up on the set as a whole - just in case anyone's interested in the whole set, rather than one particular cream. It makes a great present so keep it in mind for Christmas!

Tocca claims/product details:
  • A selection of exquisite hand creams delicately perfumed with Tocca's best-selling fragrances
  • Enriched with a blend of shea butter, avocado oil and aloe, these luxurious hand creams will soothe and nourish tired, dry hands
  • Delicately scented, the set includes 30ml each of: Cleopatra (a fresh blend of sweet grapefruit and cucumber), Florence (a subtle bergamot and gardenia combination) and Stella (zesty Italian blood orange)
  • RRP $22 AUD for the set

Verdict

While the Stella fragrance is my favourite out of the three perfumes that match the scents in this set, this cream is probably my least favourite smell of the three. I do like it, it's just that the others are more interesting and have more punch.

Nevertheless, I've still given all three creams an HG tag because they're beautiful and feel so nice on the skin. They all have a velvety texture that's not too thick and not too thin, and they absorb well and feel wonderfully hydrating.

This little version of Stella is a great purse size, and I wouldn't want anything larger than a 30ml hand cream because I get bored of things all too easily and want to move on to something else.

It indeed smells like oranges, although the perfume it's based on is more complex and overall a better scent. This one's nice, it's just not as nice as the others - although of course it all comes down to personal opinion.

A little goes a long way and it leaves my hands feeling silky but not greasy. The effect lasts a while and I need to use less of this than I do other hand creams - both when it comes to putting it on (you only need a small amount) and also in terms of how many times I need to reapply throughout the day (only twice daily applications of this one).

Another great thing about this is the price: I'm more than happy to pay a measly $22 for 120ml total of hand cream, and this set will last me at least a year - provided I can keep it away from my husband, who's always fishing around in my bag for a hand cream.

Love.
