Jurlique Purely Age-Defying Mist - review

We've had a sick household lately so of course I'm behind on blogging again, and during that time I've managed to amass a bunch of draft posts because when I can't think, I tend to edit photos.

While that's fine for the moment, I'd previously managed to get my drafts down to less than 25 and I now have almost 40 - which is too many for me and that's when I can forget things in the madness.

Anyhoo. Next up for review is this Jurlique face mist, which I've had for ages to the point that I've almost finished it. That means it's time to review it before it's gone for good.

Long story short, I do like it but I wouldn't buy it again because it's expensive for what it is and I've used other mists that I prefer. Indeed, I've tried quite a few Jurlique face mists now and I've basically said the same thing about all of them: that is, they're nice but they're pricey and they don't suit my skin as well as other mists do. More on that below.

Jurlique claims/product details:

  • RRP $55 AUD for 100ml

Verdict

This is a nice face mist and I've enjoyed testing it. Nevertheless, it's expensive for what it is and I personally wouldn't buy it again - especially because there are other face mists I prefer.

For example, if you want a budget mist that does a beautiful job, I recommend the Banana Boat Soothing Aloe After Sun Spray (reviewed here); and if you're happy to splurge, I like Alpha-H's Daily Essential Vitamin Mist (reviewed here). Both of these products work better for me than this Jurlique one does, and the Banana Boat mist is a lot cheaper.

As for this Jurlique product, it's a standard mist that smells lightly herbal. What I like about it is that it feels very soothing and cooling when applied. Indeed, it would be a great product for summer because it's so refreshing.

It also feels a little hydrating, and while it's not the most hydrating mist I've used (I have dry skin and need something with more punch), it still does something and I think it would be enough for me in summer when my skin isn't so dry.

What I don't like about it is that the spray itself isn't fine enough, so it leaves little droplets on my face that can create holes in my makeup. Since I mostly use face mists over makeup, this isn't a good thing for me so I had to decant mine into a different bottle, which is of course annoying.

I like the weighty glass packaging in theory because it looks nice and it's nice to hold, but in practice I can't travel with it or carry it around in my handbag, and since I like carrying mists around with me, that's another annoying aspect in my books.

Overall I think this is a nice face mist, and while it's not the best one I've used on my dry skin, I still think it's lovely and I especially enjoy how soothing it is. It's also super refreshing, so if that's what you're after in a face mist, this may be one to try.

Nice but not my favourite.
