Manuka Doctor ApiRefine Illusionist Rapid Lift Mask - review

I've been using this product for over six months, and I've recently moved it to my Project Pan list because I want to finish it before it expires.
It came as a GWP from Priceline and I'm pleased to say that I absolutely love it, and I would also buy it again - which is a rare thing for me to say because I don't repurchase skincare often (especially face masks). More on that below.
Manuka Doctor claims/product details:
- Clinically proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles within 10 minutes of application
- Clinically proven to smooth skin and even skintone after just one application
- Clinically proven, in just ten minutes, to leave skin looking plumper and feeling firmer, as if lifted
- A perfect mask to ensure your skin is prepared and flawless
- Thanks to the inclusion of some of our hero ingredients - manuka honey, purified bee venom, shea butter and vitamin e - this combination mask visibly enhances radiance and helps reduce the appearance of pores and wrinkles to create an even-looking complexion
- RRP $59.95 AUD for 40ml, but do shop around
Verdict
This is a fantastic face mask and I absolutely love it. Indeed, I'm so glad I received it as a GWP because I might never have tried it otherwise, but now that I have, I already know that I'll repurchase it.
It's a white, creamy mask that smells a little like hairspray mixed with honey. You apply a thin layer to clean skin and leave it on for ten minutes, before wiping off the excess with a damp cloth and then going in with your regular skincare.
I love the feel of the creamy texture as I apply this, and while it doesn't dry down or sting or give any sign that it's working, it definitely does work. I also love that a little goes a long way, so this tub is lasting me ages - even with regular use - and that makes it good value (especially if you buy it when it's 40 percent off at Priceline).
After use, I'm always surprised by the change in my skin. My face looks brighter and more awake, and it also feels smoother and softer to boot. I also think that it has an effect on lines and wrinkles (at least temporarily), and it makes my face feel firmer and more hydrated too.
Indeed, it's the kind of mask that's perfect to use before events, and that's generally how I've been using it. So if we're heading out on the weekend, I'll be sure to apply this before we go and I find that my makeup goes on better afterwards and I generally have a good skin day after use.
On the claims: yes I do think this reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles (at least for a good few hours after application); yes my skin does look plumper and feel firmer after use; and yes I do think it gives me a more even-looking, brighter and more youthful complexion.
Overall I love this mask and I recommend it. I've even given it an HG tag, which I so rarely do with face masks so that's saying something. Yes it's expensive, but you can often find it on special and it's lasting me ages so I think it's a good investment, and I would absolutely buy it for myself.
Love.
