Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid with Lemon Oil - review
/
0 Comments
I generally steer clear of non-coloured glosses and 'treatment' balms, unless my lips need some TLC (dry, chapped etc) or I want a clear gloss to wear over a drying matte lipstick.
I included this in a Daintybelle purchase at the beginning of this year (which included the MOR products I've reviewed and also a MOR soap).
I bought this because it was on special (two for the price of one) and also because I'd heard a lot about Lanolips products and wanted to try at least one of them. I didn't open it for a while and waited until winter (lips chapping, you know the drill ; ) ), before giving it a go. The test will be whether I decide to keep the second product for myself or otherwise pass it on to a friend.
Lanolips claims/product details:
- An ultra rich and creamy whipped lanolin lip treatment with lemon oil to naturally exfoliate, leaving lips fresh, soft and moist
- Lanolips is nature's wonder moisturiser
- The citric acid in the organic lemon oil acts as a natural exfoliator on dry, dead skin; when applied, there may be a slight tingling on the lips as it works
- Offers a natural high gloss
- Hydrating lip ointment with a hint of shimmer for a healthy sheen
- 12.5g of product for $15.95 (but shop around - I paid that price for a duo)
- Shelf-life of 12 months
- Cruelty free
- Contains over 70% of Lanolips' exclusive Ultra Pure Medical Grade Lanolin
- Contains over 97% naturally derived ingredients
- Keep below 25°C
See above swatch on my wrist, and below swatch on my mouth. You can see the sheen mentioned above:
Verdict
This absolutely smells like lemonade - waahhhoooo! Just don't eat as much of it as I've been doing ; ).
Does it live up to its claims? Yes. It's certainly rich and creamy, and offers a gloss with a hint of shimmer. The only thing I haven't experienced is the exfoliating action (no tingling as yet for me).
Would I repurchase? Yes. Although as mentioned, I prefer coloured glosses that treat and hydrate the lips as well, so I would probably pick something like that over this product.
Has anyone else used this? If so, what did you think?
