Teeez 'Eve's Ready to Wear Lipstick' in Tempting Pink - review

This showed up in our May 2014 Violet Boxes - in my opinion the best Violet Box on record since the one last year that brought us a full-size Bodyography powder.

I was so excited to see it included - I'd had a Teeez lipstick sitting in my VB shopping cart, waiting for when I got paid, and while this wasn't the colour I'd have chosen for myself, I was so glad to receive it so I could trial the lipstick without having to buy it. That's why we subscribe to beauty boxes, after all : )

As always I'm in love with the packaging. On first glance the colour wasn't at all my colour and I suspected it wouldn't suit me (pink generally doesn't), but this one is pale/nude/translucent enough that I can get away with it.

Teeez's claims/product details:
  • Rich formula with wild mango to nourish, hydrate and repair cracked or dry lips
  • Velvety texture that glides on effortlessly to deliver a long-lasting, non-smudge, kissable finish
  • Paraben free
  • Comes in 16 colours
  • For ingredients, see here
  • RRP $32 for 3.5g
  • Available for purchase in the Violet Box shop

See below swatch on my wrist. There it looks like quite a sherbety pink:

In different lighting:

Here it is on my lips; it does seem paler/less pink on my lips than on my wrist, and the colour in the below photo is the same as the one I see in the mirror:

Verdict

Does it live up to its claims? All but the long-lasting, non-smudge one. It is indeed super moisturising and does glide on well. Easy to apply and doesn't sit in your lip lines, which I love. Its lasting power however isn't great and you will need to reapply it frequently. I can live with that if the product feels nice enough on my lips, and this does.

It's a good, everyday colour. While it doesn't suit me brilliantly, it does suit me much more than I thought it would. It's also great to put on top of other, more vibrant lipsticks that need to be toned down a bit, and/or need a coat of gloss to keep my lips from drying out.

Would I buy it? Yes. I've already got my eye on the Carnelian Coral colour in the VB shop (what a surprise hehe).

Have you tried Teeez lipsticks? What did you think?
