St Tropez Gradual Tan, Body (Medium/Dark) - review

I've recently reviewed the St Tropez Gradual Tan Plus Anti-aging for Face (see here), which I really loved. I really loved this one too, though perhaps not quite as much as the face cream - the face cream blew me away.

I picked this body tanner up in the Bellabox FB Swap Group, part of a bundle of products I exchanged with a lovely lass, swapped for items I had but didn't need. I love the FB Swap Groups!

St Tropez claims/product details:
  • A gentle hydrating body moisturiser with a touch of self tan for natural, healthy-looking radiance
  • Nourishing lotion infused with aloe vera for powerful, long-lasting hydration
  • Contains additional skincare benefits such as natural emollients and minerals that activate collagen formation for smooth, supple skin
  • Helps build a light, golden tan over time
  • Perfect for all skin types and colours, and for everyday use
  • Utilising advanced, paraben free and Aromaguard™ fragrance technology to eliminate tell-tale self tan aromas, St Tropez Gradual Tan Body will ensure you maintain a natural, healthy glow all year round
  • A winner in the Instyle 2014 Best Beauty Buys awards
  • RRP $33.95 AUD for 200ml

What I liked about this product is that it's a rich cream, but a little still goes a long way (same goes for the face cream, but not quite as much re the latter product).

Having said this, the 30ml amount of product didn't last very long (about a week), so I didn't notice a massive change in my colouring - see above (before) and below (after) photos.

I only used it on my neck, dec, arms, chest and shoulders (no point going lower in winter). Perhaps what I should have done is limit the 'test space' for the product even more - as it was, I only got about a week's worth of applications from the sample.

Verdict

I really loved this, though I loved the face cream version more. Does it live up to its claims? Yes. It's super rich, nourishing and hydrating, and I'd buy it just for these reasons - even without the tanning aspect - although I wouldn't pay full price. (You can often pick up St Tropez products on special at Priceline and Chemist Warehouse.)

In terms of tanning power, I didn't notice a massive difference over a week - although I wouldn't really expect to. But you can tell that my skintone has become a bit warmer from the photos. I think that after two weeks' use, we'd see a real difference.

I'm starting to get a new love for St Tropez products, so glad I've tried them. Yay to the FB Swap Groups! I'll definitely be keeping a look-out for discounts on these items.

Do you have a favourite self-tanner? This product and the St Tropez Gradual Tan Plus Anti-ageing for Face have definitely travelled to the top of my list : )
