Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick in 03 Pêche Cosy - review
/
0 Comments
You may remember that I bought this lipstick at Priceline a while back because there was a gift with purchase special whereby you received a primer, blush pot and makeup bag if you spent $19 or more.
This cost $19 on the knocker and that's of course one of the reasons I chose it ; )
If you've read this blog before, you probably won't be surprised that I picked the shade 03 Pêche Cosy, since I'm always drawn to anything in the peach/coral/orange department. Plus I already had a couple of big bang orange lipsticks at home, but I'd recently finished one that was in the softer/nuder range - so there was a hole in my collection (if we can really ever talk about having 'holes' in our lipstick collections ; )).
It's a nice, soft shade that would suit most people and I'm definitely glad I picked it - a little lucky because there wasn't a tester available and this was the last one in this colour. I wouldn't be surprised if that's because it's one of the most popular shades in the range.
Bourjois claims/product details:
- Stylish and sleek in design
- 'Must have' colours tested and approved by fashion editors
- Formula is enriched with ¼ pure lacquer for a radiant, glossy finish
- Contains orchid blossom extract so it glides onto the lips, leaving them feeling smooth, hydrated and protected for up to 10 hours
- Incredibly soft, 'ready to wear' formula
- Available in 18 shades
- RRP $19AUD for 3.5g
See above and below swatches. A lovely colour and super wearable. The formula is definitely creamy.
Below I'm wearing it on my lips - two shots taken in natural light (the sun came out for the second shot so I've included both):
You can see the creaminess - it's a dream to apply.
Verdict
Yay to this colour - I can see myself reaching for the product every day just for the shade. A great colour for summer.
While these aren't the best lipsticks on the market, I'm really enjoying this one. It applies well, the consistency is wonderfully smooth and I like the glossy sheen.
In that sense these lipsticks are quite like lip glosses, and the lasting power is similar to those; ie, not that great and the product transfers easily. Still, I'm used to applying gloss frequently because I have dry lips and drink tea all day (maybe those things are related?!), so I don't mind reaching for this often to replenish it.
The plastic packaging is fine but nothing special; it's a cheaper brand after all (although of course it's not that cheap for us Australian lasses - it's much better value if you buy it OS).
If you can pick one of these up on special at eg Priceline (and in fact they're on special there now), they're better value. While they aren't my favourite lipsticks in terms of formula, lasting power and value (do I need to say Shanghai Suzy again?!), they're definitely worth a go.
Like.
