Shanghai Suzy Lipsticks in Miss Simone Baby Coral, Miss Sophia Lilac and Miss Amy Baby Pink

I've been mucking around with my photography because I wanted to improve my shots of coloured products, so hopefully these turn out ok.
Photography isn't my strong point but it's something I'm keen to work on, and I'm starting with this post : )
I had two Shanghai Suzy Lipsticks (Miss Sally Watermelon and Miss Sarah-Jane Neon Coral; see my review here) prior to picking up these three. Both were bought in the Bellabox shop towards the start of the year - and, since I loved them so much and since they only cost $12.95 each - a couple of months ago I sourced more.
These ones were bought from the excellent Rouche Boutique, an online shop that often runs discounts (see my post on the shop here). These lipsticks only cost $11.60 each, and by adding a couple of Sweetpea & Fay liquid lipsticks at $9.50 each, I was able to cross the free shipping total of $50 - even after using a 10% discount code and paying less than $50 for the bunch. Score!
I chose Miss Simone Baby Coral because I can't help myself when it comes to coral, Miss Amy Baby Pink because it looked like the only shade of pink I can really get away with, and Miss Sophia Lilac because I didn't own anything similar to the colour and thought I'd try something new.

About Shanghai Suzy
Launched in August 2013, SS was founded by Melbourne model and former cosmetics marketing exec Joanna Wheaton. It's a lipstick-only cosmetics brand housing a bold and bright range of lipsticks; each colour is limited edition and a new on-trend range is delivered every season.
Tired of paying $30 or more for fashion lipsticks that she would only wear a few times, Joanna saw a gap in the market for affordable, on-trend lipsticks that delivered in terms of pigment, formula, colour and packaging – and so Shanghai Suzy was born.
SS lipsticks are not tested on animals and contain no animal-derived ingredients. For more information, see the Shanghai Suzy website.

Shanghai Suzy claims/product details:
- Thick and creamy matte formula that's long-lasting and won’t budge when challenged (colours can be matte or nourish formulas - these three are matte)
- Super pigmented
- Contains moisturising agents to prevent that typical matte dryness
- Colours are limited edition
- Long-lasting hydration
- Bubblegum scent
- RRP $12.95

If I had my time again, I mightn't have bought both Miss Amy and Miss Sophia, because the colours aren't so different from each other on me (see lip swatches below) - plus Miss Sophia suits me a lot better so I'll definitely be reaching for that one more often when I want to wear something in that colour range.

Here's Miss Sophia Lilac, swatched in natural light twice (but the sun came out more for the second shot):
This colour was such a surprise - I really really love it.
Who would have thought that lilac lipstick could be flattering (and could appeal to someone who hates lavender)?! But this is a perfect shade and I think it would suit many people.
Here's Miss Amy Baby Pink, again swatched in natural light twice (with differing levels of brightness):
This isn't a colour I'll wear often (it's a touch chalky looking), but I do like it well enough on me - a score for someone who can't usually get away with pink!
Ah, Miss Simone Baby Coral - the whole reason I wanted to buy a new shade from the AW14 collection.
It's definitely my colour and suits me the best of all three (although Miss Sophia comes a close second):
I can totally see myself wearing this colour every day!
Verdict
These are AWESOME. I'm totally in love. So much so, I've already bought a few more from the SS14 collection - in fact, this was the last order I snuck in before starting my challenge to go for a whole year without buying any new beauty products (see my post on that here).
Amazing formula, excellent lasting power and wonderful colours. And for only $12.95 each, my golly! Honestly, these lipsticks far outperform any other I've tried (except Lime Crime lipsticks, which are on par) - and they're some of the cheapest on the market. Praise the universe that this brand was created!
These lipsticks are fast becoming the only ones I wear - they're that good. Plus the company manages to make 'out there' colours (as well as more muted, everyday ones) that actually suit you - how, I ask you?! No other brand I know manages to achieve that - not even Lime Crime. Miss Sophia Lilac is the perfect example: I'd never have thought I could wear a pale purple lipstick, but turns out I can. Well knock me down with a feather ; )
I feel like I should be writing paragraphs and paragraphs on how good these puppies are, but there's really so little to say. I love them. They're gorgeous. They last. They live up to their claims. They're smashing to wear. And they're cheap.
'Nuff said.
