insobeau Hiaromax Vitamin Stick - review

I received this in Memebox #35 Moisture Surge (see my review of that box here).
My initial thoughts on this product were that it looked great and interesting/different, and that I didn't have anything else like it so I was excited to receive it.
insobeau claims/product details:
- Designed to be applied to any especially dry areas of your face - eye and mouth contours etc
- Instantly replenishes and moisturises the skin
- Contains a rich vitamin and hyaluronic acid formula that works to cool, soothe and treat enlarged pores
- Apply either before or after makeup application
- RRP $29US for 10g
Note: as with many items received from Memebox, it was hard to find information on this one and the above comes from the Moisture Surge product card. If you're interested in this product, it's probably worth doing a bit of research and even contacting Memebox for more info.
I do like the design and the packaging. It would be great to carry around in your purse and/or in your travel makeup kit if you're travelling by plane.
Verdict
This isn't as good as I'd hoped. The smell and consistency are exactly like a Chapstick (a bit antiseptic/medicine-like), and I don't know how I feel about wiping a Chapstick over my face.
It's moisturising but not as much as you're led to believe from the description (not on my skin, anyway), plus it's waxy and therefore I don't think it's suitable for applying everywhere. Maybe that's just me.
I also found that it leaves a thin film on your face and I don't like the feel of it. I wouldn't apply it before makeup because I think it would make your foundation slide around, and I wouldn't apply it afterwards because I reckon it would shift things about too much and you'd muck up all your hard work.
So while this product isn't for me - not for its stated purpose - I have been using it as a foot balm and it works really well for that, so it'll definitely get used.
Did anyone else receive this? What did you think?
