Jurlique Herbal Recovery Signature Eye Cream - review
/
1 Comments
I received three Jurlique products to test a couple of months ago, and this is the second item that I'm ready to review.
In short, it's a lovely eye cream and I'm really enjoying it, and I struggle to find eye creams that work for me and don't cost the earth - so it's nice to find one that suits me and that isn't too badly priced. More on that below.
The product comes with a little spatula and I do think that's useful because the eye cream is in a pot and I know that a lot of people don't like dipping their fingers into pots every day because they don't think it's hygienic.
I personally don't mind a pot because my hands are always washed and clean when I'm doing my skincare anyway, but I do think it's nice to have the option of using a spatula.
Jurlique claims/product details:
- Smooths, re-energises, firms
- Featuring powerful silk tree extract, this nourishing cream addresses lines, wrinkles, dehydration, puffiness and dark circles around the delicate eye area to give you smoother, firmer, younger-looking skin
- Rich in our signature blend of potent age-defying botanicals including cedar bud and yarrow plus natural antioxidants, it helps re-energise and protect the eye area and restore your skin’s youthful radiance
- The subtle and refreshing botanical fragrance reflects our organic farm in the South Australian Hills, with notes of rose and lavender to complement fresh citrus and mild herbaceous tones
- Free from silicones, petrolatum, mineral oil, parrafin wax, PEGs, synthetic glycols, parabens, formaldehyde donors, GMOs, artificial colours and fragrances
- Dermatologist tested
- Suitable for all skin types
- RRP $65 AUD for 15ml
Note that Jurlique has performed a clinical study of 47 women who used this eye cream for 28 days, and discovered the following: 80% of women agree skin feels replenished and hydrated; 88% of women agree skin feels firmer; clinically proven to improve the appearance of bags and dark circles under the eyes; clinically proven to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Please see Jurlique's website for more information.
Verdict
I was thrilled to receive this product for review: I’m 38 and am always looking for good eye creams, especially because I’m picky and struggle to find ones that meet my needs.
This one’s great. It’s very lightweight but also very hydrating, and it has kept my skin feeling comfortable for the two months that I've been using it.
It has a light scent that's herbal and floral at the same time, but it's not strong so I'm only aware of it if I hold the product up to my nose.
When I apply this, I only need the tiniest amount each time (perhaps half the amount of other eye creams) so I think it’s a good investment because the tub will last longer than most. It also spreads and applies well, and it leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated after use.
Plus it keeps my dry skin feeling nourished but not weighed down so I can use it both morning and night, and it makes my eye area look brighter and more awake when I apply it.
Note, though, that I haven’t noticed any reduction in fine lines or wrinkles over time, and I haven't noticed the differences mentioned in the results of the clinical trial noted above (eg it hasn't done anything for my eye-bags or dark circles).
Nevertheless, I do recommend this eye cream and I would buy it. It's hydrating while still being lightweight, it keeps my dry eyes feeling comfortable and looking a little brighter, and a little goes a long way so I think it's reasonable value.
Worth trying.
