Jurlique Nourishing Cleansing Oil - review
/
0 Comments
This cleansing oil was sent to me for review and I was super excited to try it because I love cleansing oils and I'm always happy to try another one.
I'm pleased to report that it's lovely, and indeed it's one of the nicest cleansing oils that I've tried. I would absolutely buy this again and I can't say that of many products so that's worth noting.
Jurlique claims/product details:
- This light and silky cleansing oil is ideal for all skin types
- Transforms into a rich cleansing milk on contact with water to effectively remove waterproof makeup, impurities and pollution while powerful antioxidants naturally protect your skin
- Natural seed oils and botanicals help nourish and smooth to reveal softer, brighter and younger-looking skin
- Contains an exclusive blend of pure botanicals grown, harvested and extracted at our organic farm in the South Australian hills, including birch, calendula, spilanthes, rosemary, yarrow, lemon balm and licorice
- Free from silicones, petrolatum, mineral oil, parrafin wax, PEGs, synthetic glycols, parabens, formaldehyde donors, GMOs, artificial colours and artificial fragrances
- Nourishes, nurtures and hydrates
- Smooths, softens and brightens
- Restores skin suppleness for a youthful look
- To use: massage 2-3 pumps onto dry skin, including eye area; add warm water to emulsify and rinse thoroughly; use morning and night; if irritation occurs, rinse thoroughly
- RRP $42 AUD for 200ml
I like the pump bottle this comes in: it's easy to use and it looks fancy.
It's plastic so it's more travel friendly than glass, and the pump dispenses a good amount of product each time: not too much and not too little.
Verdict
I was super excited to be sent this product for review because I’m a complete cleansing oil junkie and I’ve tried a lot of them. Happily this is one of the nicest cleansing oils I’ve tried, and I have a lot to compare it to so that's worth mentioning.
It’s a very thin and light oil with a herbal scent. It applies like silk and feels gorgeous on the skin. It also spreads well so you don't need to use too much per application, and I can see this bottle lasting me for at least eight months of daily use.
Better still, it works. I apply three to four pumps, massage it, add water so it turns milky, massage it some more and then remove it with a damp face cloth. It takes care of all my makeup, and while most cleansers don’t deal with my waterproof mascara well, this one does. Tick.
I've also used it in the morning spot as a kind of mask while I'm getting the kids ready. So I'll whack it on, get them organised and then go back and complete the cleansing process twenty minutes or so later. While it works ok for this purpose, it doesn't penetrate and hydrate as well as some of my other oil and balm cleansers, and in any event, it cleans so well that I think it's best used for makeup removal.
After use my skin feels soft, clean, hydrated and comfortable. I’ve also noticed that the product doesn’t irritate my eyes or give me blurry vision if some oil slips in there, which is a plus because that’s happened with other products.
Overall I think this is a fantastic cleansing oil that meets its claims and I would absolutely buy it. It works, it's a pleasure to use, and you get a good amount of product for your money so I think it's reasonable value.
Lovely.
