Sukin Soap Free Body Wash - review

I bought this body wash ages ago when Sukin was half-price at Priceline, with the aim of using it for my children because I wanted something gentle for their young skin.

It's now been their bath wash for months now (I've used it too), and it's almost finished so I would like to review it before it's gone for good.

Long story short, I like it and I recommend it. More on that below.

Sukin claims/product details:

  • A soap-free wash that provides a gentle, non-drying cleanse to remove impurities and excess oils, leaving your body soft, soothed and balanced
  • Enriched with key ingredients of cucumber, green tea, aloe vera and calming chamomile to refresh delicate skin
  • No Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) or Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES)
  • No nasties
  • RRP $12.95 AUD for 500ml, but do shop around

Verdict

I like this product and I recommend it. Not only is it gentle on the skin, but it's also reasonably priced and you can often find it on special so it's one to keep in mind.

It's a clear gel and it has that familiar Sukin scent that's hard to describe (a little herbal, a little sweet). It's a smell I enjoy. The bottle comes with a pump and I appreciate this because it makes things so much easier when I'm bathing the kids or using the product on myself.

What I like about this gel is that it's very smooth, silky and almost velvety, and while it does lather up, it doesn't foam like crazy so I can tell that it doesn't contain any sulphates. I for one am happy about that because sulphates tend to dry out my already dry skin, but this product doesn't do this and instead leaves my skin feeling softly hydrated after use.

It also cleans well enough that I've been able to use it as a hand wash in the kitchen and it will effectively take care of food scraps, oil, nappy cream dregs and also greasy sunscreen without issue. Any wash that can do this without stripping my skin gets two thumbs up in my books.

Overall I do like this product and I also like that it won't break the bank, especially if you can find it half-price like I did - which isn't unusual because Sukin is often discounted somewhere. Sure, it's not the most amazing product on the planet, but it does the job without drying out my skin so I recommend it.

Worth trying.
