Sukin Super Greens Facial Exfoliant - review
/
0 Comments
This exfoliant came as a freebie in a Priceline goodies bag and it's taken me a while to start using it because I've had so many products I've been trying to get through.
Still, I was looking forward to trying it because I've tested another product from this Sukin Super Greens line and liked it, so I was expecting to like this one too.
I'm pleased to report that I do like it, and while it's not the most effective exfoliant on the market, it's still good and it's not abrasive so it's great for everyday use. More on that below.
Sukin claims/product details:
- Contains a nutrient-rich blend of kale, spirulina and parsley to brighten the complexion and improve the texture of skin
- Enriched with natural jojoba beads and bamboo to gently exfoliate and polish
- Leaves the skin feeling smooth and free of impurities
- Pineapple and licorice root extracts help balance excess oils and tone the appearance of skin
- A burst of cranberry provides an invigorating scent to refresh the senses
- Suitable for normal skin types, especially dull
- RRP $13.95 AUD for 125ml, but do shop around
If you're interested, I've reviewed the cleansing oil from this Super Greens line here. While it wasn't the most effective cleansing oil I've tried, I still enjoyed the experience of using it because I liked the scent and also how it felt on my skin.
Indeed, now that I've tried two products from this line and liked both of them, I'll certainly be looking to try more Super Greens products down the track.
Verdict
I'm really enjoying this product and I recommend it, especially if you don't like spending too much on your skincare. Not only is this exfoliant reasonably priced, but you can often find it on special and it's a pleasure to use: indeed, I think you'd be hard-pressed to beat it in this price-bracket.
It's a white cream with a very sweet, green scent. I do smell the cranberry and it's quite a strong scent, so if you're not one for fragrance in your skincare then this mightn't be for you - although the fragrance is natural so do keep that in mind.
I use this product perhaps twice or three times a week and it works very well. The grains are very fine and very gentle (they're soft and smooth in texture), so it's a good product for those who don't like harsher exfoliants.
Now my skin is dry and using this three times a week (max) is enough for me, although if you have oily skin I reckon you could use it daily if you wanted to: it's that gentle.
What I love about this is that it polishes my skin very gently but it still exfoliates well enough to have a decent effect. After use my skin feels smoother and looks a little brighter, but it never feels stripped or raw or uncomfortable. My face also feels very smooth and gently nourished after use, so I think the cream delivery system works well to balance the exfoliating effect by adding some moisture to the mix.
On the claims: yes it brightens the complexion and improves texture; yes it gently exfoliates and polishes the skin; yes it leaves the skin feeling smooth; and yes it's great for dull skin.
Overall I think this is a great little product and I recommend it. It's cheap and effective while still feeling gentle, and it's a pleasure to use. Plus it's cheap to boot. Can't beat that.
Worth trying.
