ProYou Magic Silky Shiny Skin Essence - review

Recently I've moved on to a bunch of ProYou products received in various Memeboxes. This one came in Memebox Special #63 Skincare Elixir, and I'm loving it. That makes my experience with ProYou so far a good one. Thank god for that, since I have quite a few ProYou products to sample.

As you may know I wound up with a lot of junk during my short journey with Memebox, so it's lovely to find some products I'm happy with.

ProYou claims/product details:
  • A lightweight facial essence suitable for all skin types
  • Contains a blend of adenosine, phellinus linteus extracts, copper peptide and EGF, which work to smooth roughened skin texture
  • Niacinamide, rice bran extracts and morus bark extracts brighten up uneven skintone
  • Moisturising agents such as hyaluronic acid, collagen, panthenol and kerasgen add rich moisture and suppleness for a healthier complexion
  • To use: apply over clean face; pat in for full absorbance
  • RRP $36 for 50ml

Verdict

I totally love this stuff. I've no idea what's in it (or indeed what an 'essence' is) but it feels like a serum/oil hybrid and my skin's over-mooned by it.

It's clear and has a very faint floral smell. It's oily in texture but not super oily and it doesn't leave a greasy residue like some oils can. I use it as the first step in my skincare routine after cleansing (as you would a serum) and my skin's looking better for it, even after only a few weeks of use.

As for claims, yes it's lightweight and yes it has a smoothing (and soothing) effect. I haven't noticed any change in terms of uneven skintone, but it does have a temporary brightening action that makes me look fresher. It's definitely moisturising and the 'supple' claim is true too.

Hallelujah that a Memebox product can live up to its claims. I'm liking it so much that I've been applying it throughout the day over makeup too, and it immediately makes me look younger because it plumps and hydrates so well.

Love!
