Alpha-H Daily Essential Vitamin Mist - review

I bought this in June because I was low on my face mist and I was able to find this one available in a special introductory pack, so you got this and a full-sized facial sunscreen for the same price that you would pay for the spray alone.
It was a good deal and I mightn't have bought the product otherwise because I don't normally spend that much on face mists (I burn through them too quickly), and while I do recommend it and I'm glad I've tried it, I wouldn't buy it often for that reason.
Alpha-H claims/product details:
- The ultimate way to boost skin protection and hydration throughout the day
- Creates a breathable barrier against everyday environmental aggressors and urban pollution
- The hydrating and refreshing blend of essential oils nourishes the skin instantly
- Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, this rejuvenating face mist can be applied throughout the day to reawaken dry and dull complexions
- Also protects skin from damaging toxins that accelerate signs of premature ageing
- Enriched with the revolutionary ingredient Cureberry, the mist strengthens skin against the harmful lights of smartphone screens to tackle modern skin aggressors head-on
- Ideal for arid climates, flights and air-conditioned environments
- Enriched with antioxidants to build a barrier against free radical damage
- Aromatic scent combines rose, rose geranium and orange essential oils
- Can be applied before and after makeup
- Suitable for all skin types
- RRP $49.95 AUD for 100ml, but do shop around (you can find it for around $40 AUD)
Verdict
While I think this is a lovely product, I've been using mine for about six weeks and I don't have much left (perhaps another two weeks left to go), so it's not the right face mist for me because I don't want to spend between $40 and $50 every two months on my facial spray.
It's a standard mist that comes in a spray bottle and it smells like rose and orange. The mist itself is nicely fine and I appreciate that because it doesn't disturb my makeup. The finer the mist, the better I reckon.
What I like about this product is that it's very hydrating and nourishing, plus it's refreshing and soothing on the skin. I have dry skin and it's winter at the moment so I've been drier than usual, and this product has been great for keeping my skin feeling comfortable.
It also works well when applied over makeup because it takes away that powdery look so everything merges together, plus it adds some radiance and I personally love that because when my skin gets dry, it looks very flat, very quickly (and more wrinkly to boot).
Having said this, I don't like applying too much of this and I also don't like applying it more than once a day (twice max). Reason being, the more you spray it, the shinier you look. What this means in practice is that I look too shiny so my pores start to look more noticeable and that of course isn't what I want.
For this reason I'll usually apply this once I've finished my makeup and then I'll use something else later on if I need to - although thankfully the hydrating effect of this product lasts at least a couple of hours so it reduces the number of sprays I need to use each day overall.
On the claims: yes I do think this refreshes, nourishes and hydrates; yes I do think it creates a slight barrier over the skin so it has a protective element; and yes I agree that it reawakens my dry/dull complexion.
Overall I think this is a really lovely product that generally meets its claims and I recommend it. Having said this, I wouldn't buy it often because it costs more than I'm prepared to pay for a face mist, given how quickly I get through them.
Lovely.
