Sukin Botanical Body Wash, Lime & Coconut - review
/
0 Comments
I just reviewed the matching body lotion of this product (see here) and I wanted to follow that up with a review of the wash, so I can draw a line under both and start thinking about what I would like to replace them with.
Reason being, they're ok but I'm not super in love with them, although I do think this wash is a lot better than the lotion so at least I'm happy with one of them. And thankfully they come with pumps so they've been good to use as our hand products in the kitchen, but I would like to finish them so we can try something else.
Sukin claims/product details:
- Lime and coconut aromatics combine with jojoba, avocado and rose hip oils for a refreshing cleanse that hydrates and softens
- A sulphate free cleanser that stimulates your senses and helps revive a tired body
- Contains skin softening ingredients to hydrate and purify your skin
- RRP $12.99 AUD for 500ml, but do shop around
Verdict
I quite like this product and I recommend it. Not only do I think that it's much better than the matching body lotion, but it's also significantly cheaper so it's more in line with the cost of Sukin's other products.
It's a clear gel and I smell more lime than coconut (the body lotion was more balanced), but it's a nice refreshing smell and I enjoy it. Note, though, that it does contain parfum (same with the body lotion) so I would steer clear of this if you have sensitive skin that doesn't react well to artificial fragrance.
Indeed, I've seen a few reviewers comment that this has irritated their sensitive skin and caused them to break out in a rash (see eg the reviews on beautyheaven's website) so I would tread gently with this if your skin is easily upset. While I've been fine with it, I wanted to comment on this aspect anyway because quite a few people have said the same thing.
What I like about this gel is that it's very smooth, silky and almost velvety, and while it does lather up, it doesn't foam like crazy so I can tell that it doesn't contain any sulphates. I for one am happy about that because sulphates tend to dry out my already dry skin, but this product doesn't do this and instead leaves my skin feeling softly hydrated after use.
It also cleans well enough that we've been able to use it as a hand wash in the kitchen and it will effectively take care of food scraps, oil, nappy cream dregs and also greasy sunscreen without issue. Any wash that can do this without stripping my skin gets two thumbs up in my books.
Overall I do like this product and I also like that it won't break the bank, especially if you can find it half-price like I did - which isn't unusual and it's half-price again at Priceline as we speak. Sure, it's not the most amazing product on the planet, but it does the job without drying out my skin so I recommend it.
Worth trying.
