Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate - review
/
0 Comments
We received this sample in Marie Claire's Autumn Edit of The Parcel. I've been through a sample of this at least once before, so I feel I know enough about the product to write this review.
In short, while I generally love Lancome skincare, this product has never grabbed me and I don't think it achieves much at all.
- A multi award-winning serum that works to repair and reactivate the 10 visible signs of youthful-looking skin
- Inspired by cutting-edge science
- A serum so powerful it creates more radiant and smoother skin that you can see and feel
- First results in just 7 days
- A new self-loading dropper that gives you the perfect dose of serum for each application
- This innovative formula, featuring Genifique's powerful complex with an added biotechnology-derived ingredient, is incredible to the touch
- To use: apply after cleansing and before moisturising
- RRP $95 for 30ml
Verdict
I didn't think much of this at all, which surprised me because I normally love Lancome skincare.
This product seems too watery and thin to me and I just don't feel any goodness in it. My skin looks no different after application, nor have I seen any cumulative effect over time.
I haven't seen any change in my skin that might support the more radiant and smoother skin claims, nor any of the other claims relating to how it will benefit my skin.
I think the formula of this is marginally better than the first version, but I haven't liked either. And I certainly wouldn't be forking out almost $100 for the privilege of using it! Thank god products like this are available in sample and travel sizes so you can trial them first.
Do note that this product is rated pretty highly on eg makeupalley.com, so users must be seeing something in it that I'm not.
Interestingly, however, Paula's Choice agrees with me and only gives this product two stars. It also points out that Lancome claims this product addresses the 10 signs of ageing, but doesn't spell out what those are. I was relieved to see that - I couldn't find any info about those signs online! So we're supposed to guess what those signs are?! My golly.
Anyhoo. I agree with Paula's Choice, and if you want something like this and have the dough, you're better off going for Estée Lauder's Advanced Night Repair, or something similar.
No ticks from me. Well, Lancome can have one tick for this because it's a Lancome product and Lancome is allowed the occasional bad product ; )
