little white truths

Yesterday I reviewed step one in this little set, and today it's time for step two. As mentioned in yesterday's post, I'll do an overall review of the set as well, but I thought it would be useful to review each item separately because they don't necessarily come together.

This little mask is the best item in the set and I've been enjoying using it. I prefer it to the other two products because it feels as though it's having more of a beneficial impact on my skin.


Migabee claims/product details:

• A multi function, multi purpose mask/cleanser
• Tightens enlarged pores and soothes irritated skin
• When used as a mask, it calms and soothes the skin after exfoliation
• When used as a cleanser, it removes oil, dirt and other impurities from deep within the pores
• To use: apply evenly over your face; gently scrub away with lukewarm water for 1-3 minutes and rinse off with cold water

Verdict

This is a decent little product.

It comes out a white-ish grey colour and looks similar to a mud mask. It goes on smoothly and dries, then when you come to adding water to it and scrubbing, it foams up super nicely. It's this foaming/massaging process that, to me, is having an impact on my face and I do think it has the effect of closing my pores a bit and leaving my skin feeling smoother.

While the pore claim is true, I don't notice anything soothing about it and instead it seems to have a slight tightening/drying effect that isn't too uncomfortable. I think it does work as a cleanser too but it's not the most effective cleanser I own in terms of removing dirt etc - I can tell this by the amount of grime that comes off on the cotton pad when I tone afterwards.

That aside, I'm happy enough with it's efficacy as a pore-tightener so I'm not too worried about whether it meets its other claims. I'm using it once a day at the moment and I do think that my skin looks brighter and smoother for it.

Ticks from me. I probably wouldn't buy it, but if I were going to purchase one item from this set, this product would be it.
