Vivito Illust Secret Blusher in PK02 About Pink - review

I picked this up not long ago from Memebox as part of a set. The set passed my spending ban restrictions because I had a bundle of points to use up and the set (which included this blush, a powder highlighter, a lipstick and a makeup remover) was on the free shipping list at the time, plus I'd run out of makeup remover so the purchase was 'allowed'. The order cost $3USD in total - not bad at all!
Unfortunately the lipstick I got (randomly selected) was bright red and doesn't suit me, so that's already gone to a better home. The powder highlighter is nice but has noticeable glitter (albeit finely milled) so I'm not sure how much I'll use it, and the makeup remover I've yet to open because I later received a remover from Santa, which I opened first.
While I love the packaging of this blush - and that was indeed part of the reason for the purchase (!) - unfortunately it's pink and, from the photos on Memebox's website, I'd thought it was coral. Happily it's not a super pinky pink (which wouldn't suit me) and it's a colour I can get away with. Plus it's on my dresser shelves looking all pretty, so it has 'eye candy' value, which is worth something to me.
The packaging feels pretty cheap but looks good, and it's functional enough with a handy little brush inside that's not half bad. Indeed, the brush itself was worth the purchase because I don't have enough of them and definitely need more travel-friendly tools like this one.
The below photo is true to colour - and it's not the colour that was displayed on the Memebox website at the time (the set is gone from the website now so I can't show you that).
As usual with Memebox items, there's not a lot of info available online about the product, but here's what I've found (and I've done my best to clean up the super dodgy English translation ; ) ):
Vivito claims/product details:
- Contains eight kinds of flower complex
- One touch gives silky finish that lasts for hours
- Lightweight powder that gives natural cover
- Flower complex gives bright and vital look
- Contains oil to allow silky application
- 5.5g in size
As you can see above (or not see, rather), it's very sheer and doesn't show up too well in photos!
You can see below that it gives a very slight flush to my cheeks. I've applied quite a bit in both photos but it's not too visible. It's more visible in real life: I had to wipe some off my cheeks after taking the below shot because I looked like the proverbial clown.
Verdict
This is actually a nice little product and I'm bummed that the colour wasn't what I was expecting. If I could be bothered, I would have sent it back/asked for a replacement - but for $3 it hardly seemed worth the hassle and I didn't like the product enough to do that.
But it's finely milled and definitely silky, blends well and is easy to apply. If you're a paler skinned lass who looks good in pink, I think this would be a really pretty colour.
I like that it's sheer because it's harder to overdo and this makes it easier to get an even application. It may wind up being a product I use more as an eyeshadow, because pink looks better on me around the eyes, and not so much on the lips/cheeks.
I'm glad I own this purely because it looks nice on my dresser shelves, although it's not one I'll reach for too often. But I paid next to nothing for it and it's a nice formula, so I'm happy enough to own it.
Hopefully the Vivito makeup remover - which was the main reason I purchased this little set - ends up being a good one : ).
Has anyone tried anything from Vivito before? From my experience, it seems to be one of the few decent and consistent brands that Memebox has offered.
