ProYou S Special E/B Creamy Peel - review

I received this product in Memebox Special #59 Scrub 2, and happily it's one of the few Memebox products I've received that I rather like.
Fortunately I also received a few other ProYou products in different boxes, and I've trialled those briefly and like those too, so maybe I've finally found a decent Memebox brand that's consistent. Fingers crossed!
I'll review those other ProYou products when I've used them a bit more and feel comfortable writing full reviews of them.
ProYou claims/product details:
- A creamy and gentle 'gommage' exfoliator that erases away all dead skin cells, blackheads and sebum piled up in the skin
- Works to softly roll away skin impurities because cellulose exfoliates roughened skin texture
- Aims to leave skin feeling softer, smoother and brighter
- Contains botanical ingredients including papaya, fig and rosemary
- To use: gently massage the creamy peel formula all over your clean face; rinse off with lukewarm water
- RRP $48 for 50g
My first thought about this product when I applied it was 'this isn't going to do anything'. I think I felt this because it's a cream and I haven't used any peel like it - so the texture was unexpected and to start with it felt like a moisturiser more than anything else.
But I could tell even after the first use that it was having some impact: my skin looked and felt smoother, fresher and brighter afterwards. In that sense it had an immediate effect on evening out skintone and improving my complexion, although I don't think the effect is cumulative over time - it's more of a result that lasts for the day of use.
Because it's so gentle, it doesn't feel as though it has an exfoliating action (granted, I'm used to harsher scrubs), but the effect is definitely there - so I do think it lives up to at least some of its claims, unlike so many Memebox products I've received!
I'm not sure whether it's had any impact on blackheads etc, but my skin's at its worst at the moment (I think due to some hormonal changes after giving birth) and nothing I'm using seems to be having an effect on that. Who knows, if I wasn't using this and other blemish-targeting products, my skin might be even worse!
In sum, I'm really liking this peel and am super glad I received it. This and the Tonymoly Gold Black Sugar Mask really made this box for me, and it ended up being one of the better Memeboxes I've received.
Have you used this or any other ProYou products? What did you think if so?
