March empties #1: finished beauty products this month

Since I'm collecting so many finished products this month, I thought I would divide my monthly empties post in two again (I did the same last month).

I could probably make my empties posts shorter if I restricted myself to full-sized products only, but for now I don't want to do that: I like to see what's been used up each month, and often the travel-sized items have contained more than enough product for me to review them properly.

Plus because I wound up with far too many products over the past two years (thanks largely to subscription boxes), I'm now trying to streamline what I have and filling up my empties posts with whatever's been used - no matter the size - allows me to see that I'm slowly managing to do that!

Lonvitalite C1 Mask

This came with December's LHI. As you may know, I'm seriously over sheet masks and am yet to be impressed by one - except for a Wei one I sampled a while back.

This one is just like any other sheet mask I've tried - you put it on, you can't eat or drink while you're wearing it, you scare your husband and the dog, you take it off and your skin looks a bit more plumped but that's really all. 'Nuff said. Purchase? No.

Eslor Brightening Activator

Oh it's a sad day when I finish off a bottle of this one. Full review here. It's one of my HG products. Like Clarins' Beauty Flash Balm, it gives your skin an instant lift and takes years off your face. Plus it smells wonderful and feels gorgeous and velvety on. My skin seriously loves this stuff. Repurchase? Yes.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks

Full review here. The original version of this one is a body cream I keep coming back to again and again, and this version seems to be exactly the same. It smells amazeballs and is rich and nourishing, without being too heavy. Plus it's cheap! Love. Purchase? Yes.

Le Tan Gradual Tan, Daily Glow Moisturising Body Lotion with SPF 15

Full review here. Another body cream I keep coming back to. What's not to love about something that contains SPF, moisturises well and tans at the same time - and is also cheap? Awesome. Repurchase? Yes.

Indio Facial Scrub

Full review here. I was very sad to see this one go - I've had it for ages and I've been rationing it. It's such a great scrub that resurfaces really well (it has almost a microdermabrasion quality to it) without being too harsh. I don't have anything else like it on hand so I'll have to source something similar once my spending ban lifts. How I would love Kate Somerville's $98 ExfoliKate to be that product... Ahem. Repurchase? Yes.

Erborian BB Creams in Light and Dark, and SweetPea & Fay Liquid Lipstick in Papercut

These were the three Project Pan items I've most recently knocked off the list, so I won't comment on them here other than to say that I'm glad to see the end of them: the lipstick container broke early in the piece so I had to get rid of it, and the BB creams became products I got sick of reasonably quickly - I have other similar bases I much prefer. Repurchase? No.

ProYou Eucalyptus Oil

Full review here. This was a Memebox inclusion and I didn't like it at all, mostly because the smell was so strong that it made my eyes water and the stench lingered in the bathroom (and on my skin) for hours after use. It wasn't particularly moisturising and I wouldn't touch it again with a barge pole. Purchase? Nope!

DermaHouse Aloe Vera Moisture Mist

Another Memebox inclusion, and thankfully one that I actually liked. Full review here. I do love me a good face spray, and this was a good one. I carried it around in my handbag and used it a lot over summer to keep my face hydrated throughout the day. While I'm sad to see it go, I'm definitely ready to move on to another spray because I do like trying new things. Purchase? Yes.

Shara Shara Bee Tox Spot Cream

Another rubbish Memebox inclusion. Full review here. This was meant to target blemishes and it totally didn't. Plus it smelled horrible - kind of chemical and dirty - and didn't do much in terms of moisturising or conditioning my skin. Blurgh. Purchase? No.

Real Chemistry Luminous 3 Minute Peel

Full review here. This was a Violet Box inclusion and I didn't think much of it at all unfortunately. I've seen that people seem to be split down the middle when it comes to this product: you either love it or you think it's pretty useless and doesn't live up to any of its claims. I'm in the latter category. It just doesn't seem to so anything, other than deposit little gluey bits all over my face that are apparently removing dead skin. Hmm. Suspect. Purchase? No.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex II

Full review here. This came in Marie Claire's Summer Edit of The Parcel, which I thought was easily the best one to date. While it's a great little product, I don't think it's worth the price tag and apparently it contains mostly the same ingredients as the standard face version, so you might as well just stick to that product and save your pennies. Purchase? No.

Little Bird Organic Paw Paw Balm in Pink Grapefruit

Full review here. I haven't been caught up in the paw paw balm craze, although this product is one I preferred to any other paw paw product I've tried. Maybe because it's not quite as claggy as others and the texture is a bit better. It's a lip product but I used it on my feet, and it was great for that. Purchase? No.

Miss Dior Eau Fraiche EDT by Dior

I absolutely love this version of Miss Dior. Unlike the original (which I also like), it's not super sweet and there's almost a 'male' scent to it. I'm really sad to see it go because I do want another one, and I certainly can't afford it. It's light and fresh and interesting, and I think it will be one of the rare fragrances that I buy more than once. Repurchase? Yes.

In sum

The Dior fragrance and Eslor Brightening Activator are without question my favourite items in this lot. Honourable mentions go to the Indio scrub and the body creams from Le Tan and Palmer's, both of which I'll likely buy again and again.

Looking forward to seeing what turns up in my empties post at the end of the month. Hopefully my bathroom will look a bit neater by then: I've got far too many products out and in use at the moment, as usual!
