Naobay Oxygenating Cream Moisturiser - review

We received this generously sized sample moisturiser in our December Violet Boxes.
When we lived in Berlin I was subscribed to Glossybox Deutsch, and I received a full-size Naobay cleanser that I quite liked, so I was more than happy to give the brand another go - particularly because I like the brand's packaging (SO important ; ) ).
Naobay claims/product details:
- Moisturises, protects and softens skin
- Unique composition rich in organic nutrients including rosehip and sweet almond oils
- Intensive hydrating action that deeply nourishes the skin, while improving elasticity and providing intense moisture throughout the day
- Brimming with essential fatty acids found in oils from organic farming such as avocado and olive oils, which also give the cream anti-aging benefits
- Specially designed for dry and dehydrated skin that needs extra attention
- 98.85 % of the total ingredients are of natural origin
- 20 % of the total ingredients come from organic farming
- Can also be used as a makeup base
- Shelf-life: 12 months once opened
- RRP $69 for 50ml
- Available from eg the Violet Box shop
Verdict
I've read a lot of reviews of this product and it's definitely got two thumbs up from most people.
I like it but I don't love it, which puts me in the minority!
Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely cream: it smells nice and has a wonderful, creamy texture, and it goes on smoothly. What I don't love about it is the residue left behind - it's rather greasy on me and my skin doesn't seem to like it that much, in the sense that it doesn't look better after application and the cream doesn't plump my fine lines, even temporarily (which makes me wonder how well it's being absorbed - I reckon it sits on the surface of my skin, rather than sinking in well).
It's unusual that I'll find a cream too heavy for me because I love heavier creams (my skin is dry so it needs them), but this one is. For this reason, I don't think it's a good makeup base - it's too slippery.
Interestingly enough, plenty of other lasses say the opposite - calling it lightweight and moisturising without being greasy etc - so it clearly just doesn't like my skin!
Still, it's fine and I'll definitely use it, and I'm glad I've tried something else from this brand. I'd be more than happy to try more from Naobay in future.
