Migabee Hot Pore Peeling System, Scrub - review

I received this little set in Memebox Superbox #63 Blackheads No More, and it's only been recently that I've finished a few products off and was able to open it.
I'll eventually do a review of the whole set, but I thought I'd do a separate post on each product too since they don't necessarily come together. Plus I introduced each product in turn - using one for a week, then adding the second, then the third after another week - just so I could see what each one was doing on its own, and then together. I wanted to do this so I could review each product on its own merit. The scrub was the first product I used.
As usual with Memebox items, I had trouble finding English info for this online. All that I could come up with was what's included on the product card from Memebox.
Migabee claims/product details:
- Opens up clogged pores by heating the surface of the skin with pepper extract infusions
- Adds steam deep into pores for effective surface exfoliation
- Softens and eliminates calluses with tiny grains
- Contains peppermint oil and capsicum
- To use: spread over your face, avoiding eye and mouth areas; gently massage with your fingertips and peel away after 10-20 minutes
This one perplexed me a bit. It didn't heat up at all so I'm not sure what's going on there. I had a look online and some people noted that it got too hot, while others found that it didn't warm for them either. So who knows what's going on with the product and what makes it heat up or not!
It's one of those products that deposits little dried gel bits on your face that you're meant to massage around so they have some exfoliating effect. You may have heard me say that I don't think exfoliants like this really do the job, and while I still think that's true, the ingredients of this product made it feel like it was having some resurfacing effect.
I'm not sure why you would leave it on for 10-20 minutes - it doesn't feel like that kind of product. Indeed, step two in this set is more the kind of product you imagine leaving on for a while (that one's more like a mask). This one feels like your standard quick exfoliant and it starts to dry pretty quickly so doesn't lend itself to a longer stint on your face. But maybe that's just me.
In terms of effect, I do think this has some exfoliating action and I'm not minding it at all, I just don't think it's particularly brilliant. It's a product I'll use but won't consider purchasing.
Ok. I'll check back in soon with reviews of the other two items and the set as a whole.
