Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks - review
/
0 Comments
I just did a search and was surprised to see that I haven't yet reviewed the original Palmer's Cocoa Butter, considering it's one of my favourite body creams of all time. That must be because I haven't bought any for the past year: I've wound up with so many creams in subscription boxes that I haven't needed to. This is partly because I've received so many facial creams from Memebox that haven't been good enough for me to use on my face, so I've instead used them on my body.
Anyhoo. Note to self to pick some up when I run out of body lotion, if that happens any time this century (!).
Palmer's claims/product details:
- Unique formula that boosts healthy collagen
- Increases the skin's elasticity and its ability to stretch (very important while pregnant)
- Moisturising and protecting
- Clinical tests prove* that using Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks gives a significant increase in skin elasticity, which will help to prevent stretch marks (*2011 independent study conducted on Palmer's Massage Lotion and Massage Cream for Stretch Marks)
- To use: pregnant women should begin using this special formula as soon as they know they're pregnant; rub all over the stomach, hips, thighs and breasts to help prevent scarring
- RRP $15.99 for 250ml, but do shop around
Verdict
I'm pretty sure this is absolutely no different from the normal Palmer's Cocoa Butter, except that it's a couple of bucks more expensive.
In any event, I love the bejesus out of this product and have been going back to the standard one for years. And it's cheap! Honestly, if you haven't tried Palmer's body creams, you must. They run rings around more expensive brands in terms of effect, and this one in particular smells amazeballs.
It's super moisturising and my skin drinks it up. If you don't like a heavy body cream, you mightn't like this one - but this is my kind of cream. Mind you, it's not super heavy in a greasy sense and it doesn't leave a residue. All it does is make my skin feel so much happier.
I will say, though, that I'm not a huge believer in creams like this one having any impact on stretchmarks (you may have seen me say this before). As you may know those things are largely hereditary: if you're going to get them, you're going to get them. So I tend to raise an eyebrow at creams like this and look the other way.
Other than that, this one's a winner - although you may as well buy the normal, cheaper version I reckon ; )
Love.
