Ren Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial - review
/
0 Comments
You may remember that I cracked open this Ren skincare kit at the beginning of last month.
I've already tested all three products from the kit before so I already knew how I felt about them, but I haven't yet reviewed either the Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask or this Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial - purely because I've only used samples of each and wanted to use them more consistently before I wrote full reviews.
I bought this kit last year because I desperately wanted the mask and this product, so when I saw Ren on promotion at Mecca (if you spent over a certain amount, you'd receive a free Ren travel kit), it was like the gods had spoken and I snapped this up.
The kit contains the mask, this product and the Instant Firming Beauty Shot - which I don't love - but the kit still worked out being good-value for me considering how much it cost and the size of the other two products.
- A transforming treatment that instantly revitalises and visibly rejuvenates the skin
- Formulated with potent water-activated vitamin c, it will neutralise urban grey in a flash, leaving skin looking firm, toned and smoothed
- Reduces the signs of fatigue, photo-ageing and skin imperfections
- Skin instantly glows with renewed health and radiance
- Breakthrough technology locks ten per cent vitamin c in a silica/glyceride matrix to maximise effectiveness
- Stabilised vitamin c supports natural collagen synthesis, improves skin elasticity and evens out skintone
- Boswellic acid relaxes muscles and fights facial fatigue, diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles
- Magnesium energises the skin and boosts radiance for a glowing complexion
- For all skin types, except those prone to sensitivity
- To use: use every three days; after cleansing, apply over face and neck, massaging with circular movements; dampen fingertips with water and massage again to activate the vitamin c; leave for one minute; rinse thoroughly
- RRP $76 AUD for 75ml
Verdict
Like many, I was a little suspicious of a 'one minute facial' that could deliver results as claimed. But I was a convert from the first use - this product is amazing!
It's a green product with an odd consistency - it's a little like a gel, but it has a slightly chunky/grainy texture. When you apply it to your face and massage it in, that chunkiness increases and it almost feels dry and clumpy. That's the time to add a little water, and once you do this, it turns into a very smooth and almost slick product that's a little shiny. Once this happens and you've given it a good massage, this is when you leave it on for a minute (or even more, if you wish).
I've seen quite a few reviewers comment on the odd scent and call it 'chemical' in nature. I know what they mean but to me it smells like cough drops (in particular butter menthols) in a slightly sweet, lolly kind of way and I don't mind the smell at all. Do test it though if you're particularly sensitive to fragranced products, but also be aware that the smell doesn't linger once you've washed the product off so you may be able to tolerate it for the short time it's on your face.
I really don't know how to describe the results I get from this product, other than to say that it absolutely meets all its claims - a rare thing, in my experience! Yes it instantly revitalises and visibly rejuvenates the skin; yes it smooths, firms and tones; yes it reduces signs of fatigue and imperfections; and yes it evens out the complexion and diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
The other bonus of this product is that it does all these things so quickly! No other mask I've used can achieve this much in such a short space of time - a god-send when you have a baby or young kids and can barely find time to go to the loo!
The only downside of the product is that it ain't cheap. Having said this, a little goes a long way so even this little 20ml travel size is still going strong after six weeks of frequent use, and like me you may choose to pick up a Ren kit (I've seen many of these available at Mecca) so you can try a few 'star' products before committing to purchasing anything in full size.
All in all, this product is amazeballs and it's become a staple for me. I've given it an HG tag and I'll be repurchasing it once my tube is gone.
Have you used this? Let me know what you think if so : )
