MOR Emporium Classics Blood Orange Triple-milled Soap - review
/
0 Comments
We received this in our Autumn 2016 Edits of Marie Claire's The Parcel (reviewed here).
As you may know, I'm not a soap person and I normally pass soaps on to my husband if I receive them in sub boxes - but when I see something that looks and smells this good, I can't help but find a spot for it in the bundle of products I'm currently using.
This is indeed a gorgeous soap and I'm glad I kept it, and it's made me want to try the whole MOR Blood Orange range!
MOR products are always beautifully presented and I'm yet to try something from the brand I don't like.
These are products that, if you're ever strapped for last-minute gift ideas and don't have time to wait for shipping, you can nip into a pharmacy and find something that looks thoughtful, put-together and luxe. I'm always happy to receive MOR stuff, and I bet I'm not the only one.
MOR claims/product details:
- Combines nourishing sweet almond oil, shea butter and vitamin e
- Leaves skin feeling velvety soft, nourished and fragranced
- Vegetable based
- Triple-milled for a smoother, creamier and more luxuriant lather
- Offers superior moisture and hydration
- Available in five memorable fragrances
- Cruelty free
- The fragrance: ruby red Italian blood orange, infused with soft summer floral notes of jasmine, rose and lily of the valley
- RRP $19.95 AUD for 180g, but do shop around
Verdict
This is a really beautiful product.
I just had a look at some reviews of the soap, and I've seen that a lot of people don't use it on their bodies but instead leave it wrapped in their wardrobes to scent their clothes or even leave it out in their rooms to make the joint smell better. What a good idea! If I ever get another one of these, I may well do this because I love the fragrance and get a lift whenever I smell it.
It does indeed smell of blood oranges in a wonderfully rich way and I enjoy using it for that reason alone. It lathers well and feels super creamy and nourishing against the skin while still dissolving grime. This means that it cleans without stripping the skin, which has been one of my gripes with soap in the past so I definitely think this is a good one.
My skin always feels clean and soft after using this, and never dry or uncomfortable. I've been rationing the product because I don't want to finish it too quickly, but even with frequent use it doesn't look any smaller than it did when I opened it, so I have a feeling it will last a long time.
The only downside of the product is of course the price, since $20 for a soap ain't cheap! But if the product lasts for ages and gives me that much enjoyment, I'm prepared to forget the price and instead focus on the value - and I do think the value is there because the product meets its claims and makes showering an even better experience.
In sum, this is a fantastic soap that meets its claims and I recommend it. And you have to love that MOR is an Australian brand that's cruelty free.
Awesome.
